So on Saturday Dejay, Steve (Adventure Moto) and I went out to put some miles on Steve and the new WR450F. We fitted some Wolfman luggage to carry an extra 4 litres each on the Kato 530 and the WR. Dejay has a 15litre tanks so he was fine.

530 had a new Acerbis 12 litre fuel tank. It is so slim and you don’t even notice it. I will have it on the 530 at Sunny Corner check it out. Uses the original radiator shrouds

The WR had another Wolfman setup, you would have to ask Steve what it was, both so small didn’t even know they were there. They didn’t move, the bikes were ridden normally, jumped etc

Steve sells these setups and much much more at Adventure Moto, he is a site sponsor. Give it some thought as you can ride a whole day of singles etc and extend your fuel range and fun factor
This ride was intended to be a test for the WR and Steve who is doing the up and coming APC rally. The APC is 7500kms in 14 days and I have been asked by Steve to help prepare him and the WR for the rally. Yamaha has supplied Steve and Clubby from Trailzone a WR each for the challenge. Saturdays ride started out of Adventure Moto head quarters at 7am, Steve led us out through Dural and soon we got into some twin trail for a gentle warm up

We worked our way up to Colo Heights and popped out at the servo. We fueled the bikes and found the WR was a thirsty bike. Steve had ridden it and it took 7.6L to fill it, the 530 I rode drank 6L and Dejays KTM 400 sipped just 5L all went exactly the same distance and all were completely full at the start. From there I took point and led the boys onto the A track (Poo track Crash) it was awesome, its 35plus kays of everything, fast, slow, uphill, downhill, rutted, sandy, whooped, twin trail, single it rocks

Sorry a little fogging on this post but you get the idea, see if you can pick when I shit the gear

We got to Yengo which was a transport to the pub for a counter lunch, it’s also what parts of the APC will be like. I jumped on the WR to give it a run (hiding  )

We had a feed at Wolembi Pub and beer, we fueled at Laguna and headed into the Watagans. So the singles started

    :woohoo: Nice
I will be watching this with interest, I reckon the WR`s have some work to do to prove their worth as ADV rides

But, if anone can get them up to scratch, it will be you guys ;)
Funny that as soon as the guy I met on the DSMRA ride yesterday mentioned a couple of dudes on Kato`s and a new WR with Wolfman Luggage,,, I hit the nail on the head so to speak  It had to be you blokes ,,,,

    Keep us in the loop

I heard you were helping set up those two 2012 WR’s for the APC ralley. I’ll be keenly following this too.

Who is gonna do their seats up too cause I can’t imagine doing 7500km swimming around on a Air Hawk. Love them on road but they are a bit weird offroad to come to terms with.

I found this section of wiring loom likes to rub shoulders too. After 800km it was through the tape and exposed the wires..
I used Nylon gas pipe to shield them.

Great ride report as always TB!
Looks like you have that camera set up perfectly and it was awesome the diversity in the terrain you guys rode that day.
Sounds like a great day out.
