I think its time to look at new pads for the ol 4 hun’it, the question is which way to go? sintered or organic?
I Can’t really see the winner from what I’ve looked at appart from sintered is better off road but organic pads last longer… correct???
With a commuter/ bush mix of about 20/80
Any opinions (and I’m sure there are plenty :P ) are more than welcome

Ok I’ll reply then. Sintered lasts longer and inadvertently wears your rotor faster. One would possibly use said pads in wetter months and anything else in warmer months.

Opps missed this, my opinion sintered. I have sintered on all my bikes front and rear. Yeah sure they wear your discs a bit faster but a set of organic on the rear on a wet muddy day can cost you a disc ;) Sintered dont fade either

Sounds a bit like 6 of 1 and a 1/2 doz. of the other… except for the fade bit
I’ll give Sint. a crack anyway
    Thanks boys.

    Wise choice Bulls Wool.
My son tried organic pads and they only lasted two rides
Admittedly it was a very wet and muddy two rides
On average I get about 2000kms out of a set of rear sintered pads, according to my log
    Cheers

I remember TK had an article in Sidetrack years ago on this subject. About the only thing I can remember is that when you changed from one to the other you were meant to remove the glazing from the disc, or they didnt perform properly. Dont ask me anymore details, cause I cant remember.
