Would anyone like to see more posts per page so that you don’t need to go to the next page as soon, I was just thinkin maybe it could be a good thing to increase the posts per page. What does everyone think?
Cheers
Chris.February 26, 2009 at 4:55 am #123953Chris Just my two bob’s worth. But it is probably best left as it is,some people don’t have such high speed internet and if the thread has a lot of pics in it, the pages will take forever to load.
Does that make sense?February 26, 2009 at 4:59 am #123959Chris, don’t do this unless you first make the “Show Latest Posts” link go to the latest post itself rather than the page it is on. There is plenty of scrolling to be done now, without making more posts appear on a page. Also as Mick says, if the page is heavy with pics it will suck on dialup or slow broadband.
February 26, 2009 at 5:01 am #123960O.K point taken, just beacause I have super dooper extreme High Speed internet access! ECKS I’m still not 100% sure as to what you are talking about. When i click latest posts it takes me to the top of the latest posts section.. Although i prefer to click on more from the left and then use the tabs at the bottom of the page to see latest posts.
Cheers
Chris.February 26, 2009 at 5:04 am #123961Oops I take that back who stole my tabs?

AnonymousChris, What he is talking about is that if you have a thread topic with say 20 individual posts in it, When you click on an entry in the latest posts section, it should actually take you the the very last post in that thread. Currently , when you click on latest post by an individual in that thread, it just takes you to the first post instead of going to the lastest individual post.
Where there are multiple pages in the one thread, clicking on the latest post goes to the last page of posts in that thread, but not the latest (last) post on that page. You still need to scroll down the page.
Clicking on any one of these posts in the pic takes you to exactly the same place in the thread, as opposed to that specific individuals post.
February 26, 2009 at 5:09 am #123963Chris, if you click on New Posts in a VBulletin forum like TT, ADV or even heaven forfend DBW, it gives you a list of the latest posts. Then if you go to DBW and find the Hill End ride thread then at the top right there is a small button with a down-arrow on it (at least in the black colour scheme). If you click that it will take you to TB’s post and skip all the crap in between that you have already read.
I guess I have not quite explained it properly before, because it isn’t the latest post link I mean but the Show Most Recent Message button on the threads in the list. Which, technically, isn’t even what I’m after – because I want to go to the most recent UNREAD message.
Make any sense?
February 26, 2009 at 5:11 am #123965Slug, now that makes sense (sorry ECKS). BTW I found my tabs i must be having a worse day than I thought. I click on OLD BULL FORUM from the top menu, THEN down to the tabs.
Chris.
P.S I’ll see what I can do with the ECKS thing.
February 26, 2009 at 5:14 am #123968Lol… the ECKS thing!

February 26, 2009 at 5:16 am #123973Yeah O.K I got it now, just had a quick look to see if there was an easy option, which there isn’t, looks like it will be another special PHP hack.
Cheers
