Chris, TB… The Caves to Caves ride report thread is a classic example of the long-standing query I’ve had. I have to try and remember which page I was up to in large threads here… and my brain isn’t that good – can we make the Show Most Recent Message button actually go to the latest unread post? I’ll use the ADV site as an example. If I go to ADV and check the latest posts, the threads highlighted in bold have unread posts in them. If I go to a thread that I have been in previously by clicking on the Go To First New Post button, I get taken to the first post that was added after I last was in the thread.
In contrast with OBT where if I click on the Show Most Recent Message button (as highlighted below) I am taken to the last page of the thread, which may mean I miss one or several pages in between where I last read and now.
The button highlighted here is equivalent to the one I use on ADV. Same thing on TT and other sites like a 4WD site I also visit occasionally.
So Chris, TB, is this an option? I know, it sounds like I’m sooking, but seriously, this is a feature of most other forums that I would consider to be competitors to OBT, so by not having it you may potentially miss out on new members. And, believe it or not, I reckon OBT deserves more members!
Finally, I would like to clarify that this is having a go at anyone – I reckon OBT is a great site and spend a lot (too much) of my time on here. I just want to help make it a better site for us all!

AnonymousTB is right this is a template issue. I looked to see if it could be changed a while ago but it’s not an option in the Fireboard configuration. Chris and his IT skills will likely be able to write some code to apply to the button but this would be time consuming and he is a very busy man.
I don’t think it will stop members from joining the site, it may be the cause of more posts like this though where people are highlighting it as an issue.
May 28, 2009 at 12:07 am #136901Well, look at it this way, if that’s the biggest problem anyone has with OBT, then we are all laughing!
(I’d still like to see it fixed one day!)
May 28, 2009 at 11:21 am #136902Ya big sook Ecks, I’m looking into right now, if it can be done it will be done just to keep

May 28, 2009 at 7:48 pm #137070My puter has been running like a pig lately and I found that it’s the OB site causing 100% processor usage.
Specifically the scrolling ad at the top of page, if I mouse over it, it stops scrolling and processor use drops to about 10%, likewise if I minimise Firefox it drops as well.
IE does not cause this issue at all but I refuse to use IE unless a site wont display in Firefox.
This is most annoying as I run dual monitors and multi task quite a bit so I am at a big loss.Anyone else had this prob?
I have update Firefox but it made no diff.
May 28, 2009 at 9:35 pm #137101I reckon firefox is poo.. If you are on a mac try safari.
May 28, 2009 at 9:52 pm #136896Maybe you guys can mod the site a little more, just for me…
I have this arrow on the screen and to save RSI moving it, could you move the web page for me to the spots I want to look at

Now you’re on the money, ever played the game Myst?
The background environment moves instead of the mouse creating a full 3D environment you walk through.
Make a website like that and you’d get millions of hits.May 28, 2009 at 11:20 pm #137107I Like it the way it is all electronic and stuff, except when I write the coolest most insighful and groundbreaking post ever, I know it’s destined to become a pulitzer finalist, sit back proof read it for content glow in the narcissistic warmth of my self-proclaimed superiority, and then I hit “submit”, and WTF it tells me that write access has been disabled, and I know that I will never write anything that good again.
