slowdown

is it just me, or has the site slowed down since tuesday night.

the banners trickle across and it takes forever to change pages

i noticed i had to log in wednesday morning and since then its been slow.

all the other sites i visit are fine, its just OBT???

I’ve noted this before, but OBT makes my home laptop run slow and acts like it’s graphics intense, sometimes if I log in on it within minutes it’s got a hot CPU and goes into a safe mode.

Which is more the computers issue, but OBT is the only site that scrambled it like that that I have found.

Nope, I haven’t noticed any problems at all, I use two different servers and two different operating systems, PC and Mac and have no problems.

I am the same at the moment Mick here in Brisvagas, since I arrived I have used three different computers, my two laptops on 4 different server systems including a phone modem and my mates apple PC on his server and havent noticed a change :blink:

I’ve cleaned it out twice with compressed air, I reckon it’s got a graphic issue, but being a laptop (Dell) I know as much about it’s hardware as …….. well not much anyway.

I’m not going to argue the diagnosis Mick, cause i am, but in this case;
Well it’s a refurbished unit, with pretty well only the operating platform installed and a good virus program (sophos) and bugger all else on it’s H/D, so all that was left for me to do was to clean any accumulated dust and crud out of the hardware, with low pressure compressed air.

Seemed to help a little as i did get a heap of cat hair out of it, couldn’t tell if it was from a feral cat though….

will do this evening, essentially it’s just a computer for web browsing, nothing else, I have a beaut desktop twin twin core processor on wide bus, all singing dancing motherboard job that gets used for everything else, unfortunately the daughter seems to think it’s her’s…………..and “gee Dad this thing is way quicker than your laptop or my school computers”……..

computer and electronic stores sell cans of compressed air for just such a purpose

oh and Menace, i notice sometimes when i have another window open that has scrolling adds the OBT banner, page change/ refresh rate slows down, so i close OBT :blink:
oh i mean the other page slowing obt down :kiss:
