After not riding for 6 ‘months he’d need a kenworth suspension set up for his fat arse

I went the other way around with mine and did the rear first. The front wheel can be lofted over rocks, logs and steps but the rear cops it all. Plus if the rear wheel is bouncing all over the place it is hard to control where you are going and you are losing traction.

I am a fair bit heavier than you though.

Your probably right Jeffro, but I will have a swing and a miss in the dark here and say they were leaking oil everywhere.

Ok here we go, When I bought my KTM 350 I was very happy with the straight line speed but I was far from happy with the actual handling of the stock suspension, I went through numerous clicker adjustments trying to chase the feel that I had on my old KTM 250, but no matter what I done, I blew through corners, got kicked in the arse on smallish mounds, and just seemed to be chasing my tail to get the bike to do what I wanted it to do. Steve Nagle from SSS motorcycles Tamworth talked me into getting a suspension overhall. I haven’t actually ridden the bike in the bush but just looking at the darn thing I recon I will be up there with Chad Reed when I get a handle on it, It sits mighty proud..

I dropped the bike off to SSS motorcycles Tamworth and Steve said give me a week and you can pick it up, I put my total faith in Steve s knowledge in suspension because all I said was make the bloody thing handle for me. Steve took a few photos during the rebuild and gave me a brief explanation what he done to it.

Fork revalve in progress compression valve stack getting some major attention to achieve a smooth plush ride with less rider fatigue . Correct fork Spring rate used also .

Pds shock revalve in progress setting up the valveing shims stacks rebound and compression and selecting the correct Spring rate to suit rider weight and personal preference.

This what colour spring I had when I left the bike, it is now some kind of ducks guts after market black heavy duty thingy, apparently this is what my bike needs to haul my fat arse around the bush.

I will be doing a write up on how the Kato handles once I am back on it (2 weeks time).

I can not thank Steve Nagle from SSS motorcycles Tamworth enough, the guy is flat out building race engines and fixing up other bikes yet he still found the time to fit in my bike for a total suspension rebuild.

    Cheers

    Now smooth Boony
