    Hi Kylie

I don’t know if you have tried it before but bike shorts make a huge difference. The padding may seem modest but it is about spreading the pressure evenly and when you consider people can ride rock hard bicycle seats all day you can see how effective they are. Netti makes good value knicks at around the $60 mark that do the job. Don’t get sucked into the Aldi ones, they are useless. The padding is antibacterial and is made to be worn against the skin so that means no undies. You will find that no seams and the even pressure they give will stop the numbness and once you get used to wearing them they feel very normal. I always wear a pair under my MX pants and a long pair are even better as they add the layer of protection you need to stop brace chaffing without losing any of your movement. If you already have long MX socks or don’t wear braces then the short legs are fine.

Thanks STM. TB also mentioned some sort of bike shorts I think but I was worried about how thick they would be under my jeans. I’m not being vain about how it looks but my jeans are really tight and I was unsure if they would fit underneath them. Do they have womens ones? I only ask because I would imagine that the mens ones would have padding in different areas. Yes that is a genuine, serious question.

Kylie there are push bike ones that STM is talking about that would be good and prevent the Orange ride chaff problem :P
They are the ones I was talking about on the phone

The others I mentioned early in this thread are the block thicker pad Ballard ones

Just thinking I reckon the tighter jeans wouldn’t help you cause either, ever think about that?

Yeah I might have to try that because obviously the Orange ride solution was a big flop.

My tight jeans aren’t going nowhere either.

man i hate that this is in the tech thread, so many bad jokes, so little time!!!

but seriously, a few mates wear those “skins” like the footy players wear, when riding. they reckon they are great and stop chaffing and also are very good for cramps too if you suffer from them.

They do female versions that are a different cut and pad placement and unless your jeans are as tight as a 16 year old skater wears you will be fine. Take your jeans with you when you try them on.

Suck shit Menace  . No I don’t get chaffing or cramps on the road. I just need more padding. Irish wears the skins when he does track days but I think that is more for keeping the sweat away from his body because he gets so hot. Do you know if they spread the pressure? And yes I am serious.

I also wear padded undershorts and swear by them Kylie, I even have a set of Armoured undershorts with coccyx plates that I wear as well

    #164612

Go see the staff at Two Wheel Industries. They have the best bicycle clothing range in the Hunter. They are on the main drag in Newcastle West.

    Good luck

    O K A Y then.

No seriously, Wow I have never heard of them before. Well this sounds like it might be the go then.

There you are Menace. You were able to get one in after all. I don’t notice it on my WR because it is much softer and obviously I stand up a lot more on it. I was going to say that you probably stand up a lot too but no we’ll just stick with the fact that you are a hard arse. You have obviously ‘hardened your bum up’ like I read on another forum. .

And like I told you, once I have resolved the problem I will put the outcome on the DR Motard thread so that you can let fly.

It’s funny because obviously there are people that have had an issue with this yet this is first I have heard of solutions for it. I’m so glad that I posted this up because it may have given us a cheaper option (although we could have a spare DR seat now  ). I’m glad that it has worked so well for you Corey and KTM rat obviously feels the same. It definetly sounds like the go. :)
