November 10, 2009 at 7:03 pm #160370Seems as though the young fella goes alright. Congrats on being a top dad too.I love spending the day at the races with my kids.
Cheers
MickNovember 10, 2009 at 7:50 pm #160372Yeah good stuff Aussie, his bike looks the buisness too. Is that a forward kick start? My Fantic trials bike had one of those, I liked it, thought it was easier than the other way.
Sometimes I wish I had a couple of kids.November 10, 2009 at 7:57 pm #160378Nice Aussie. And go the kids. I love watching my young fella leaning to ride
November 10, 2009 at 10:39 pm #160379Hey Mr E that’s some good times there he’s having, and a lifetime of memories.
You gotta be proud of the Nipper.
Bruce Cee.
BTW is the grey bike in the background a cobra?
November 10, 2009 at 11:22 pm #160367Cheers guys
Yeah WikdBeemer thats a 50sx and yes they are forward kicker which I reckon is better for the little guys easier for them to kick, he has now moved up to a 65sx and they are a standard rear style kicker.
Hey Mr Blue I think the grey bike in the back ground is actually a LEM50.This year he has ridden well but as with a lot of kids has had some not so hot days and some really on fire days but he seems to have come on fire right at the end of the season on the 65sx he has secured 2nd place in his clubs 65 B-grade MX series and missed 3rd place in the Minikhana point score by 3 points so one more single event and he may have got there. He also got a 3rd place in their Tri-Club series even though he missed one race because of a flat tyre I couldn’t get fixed in time for the start so that was a good effort to fight his way back to get on the podium at the end of the series, a race down.

Great shots of the young bloke, I love the look in the eyes with his ribbons, that says it all, I am a MX coach and run schools out of the Hastings Valley track and that look of achievement in the little ones eyes is priceless,I see it all the time and really it is the reason I do it, Good on you Mate you are suppling the memories of a lifetime to your kid,
Keep the good work up and try and come up to our race track with your young fella he will love it hereNovember 11, 2009 at 1:13 am #160368Speaking of memories I love this one of him waking up to find his new 65sx
“E” November 11, 2009 at 1:45 am #160369At what age did he start riding my son turns 3 in January so maybe santa can bring him a peewee 50 or something or is that still too young what do you guys think?
November 11, 2009 at 2:18 am #160446Mate they are all different, confidence is the key, if they are willing and able they will learn, if they are not big enough then wait a little while yet, my two boys are small in stature and both started when they were 2 years old, my youngest now 10, has this year taken out at the local club the MX Championships, the overall age Champion and 2nd place in the Sprint series, Mate start them when they are able to hold the bike upright as long as they want to, just be sure to have all the safety gear on them, as far as Motor Cycling Australia is concerned they wont give out a license under 4 years of age, the best way is to get him into a Minkana club, they have great skills based riding, Good Luck
November 11, 2009 at 2:49 am #160447My young bloke started at 4 and can vouch also for the minikhana side of things my boy does Minikhana MX Trials and Enduros.there is about 5 Minikhana clubs around the Sydney area check them out.

AnonymousI had my first bike for my 3rd birthday. It was an Italjet 50. Get him on it, he could be the next Chad Reed.
