So ended up getting hand xrayed on tuesday bc it was still sore as hell. Even though my other half said nah its not broken don’t bother. He also said last year that my finger was fine even though I’d snapped the bone clean off above the last knuckle.

Anyway, I had my cast fitted today to support the fracture at the base of my pinkie. :pinch:
They wanted to fit me for a full cast but seeing as I have the trial course on sunday i said no way! Splint it so I can take it off to ride 👿

They use this cool stuff call thermoplastic . It’s heated up and can be moulded to suit then just attaches with velcro (yes you can get it in colors other than bright purple and hot pink lol). Seeing as there are lots of you boys with injuries might be worth looking at getting some sort of brace made up out of this stuff, especially for your ankle wolfie??

If you can take it off to ride then it must not have been too painful, why did you even bother going to the doc?

Even though you are a girl I reckon you need to harden up :) :) :) :) 👿

Very funny. Its not that bad actually, just painful enough to require support. I’ve had much worse breaks before and kept riding . But I’ve paid for this course so I’m doing it even it means another cast next week and my hand in ice all afternoon!

FF= its the course at pacific park I’m doing the 4hr one  Hoping to overcome some of my downhill issues  . lol yep thats me suzy home maker

Wolfie- it doesn’t have to be all molded together. They can make it into a series of plates that would strap together with velcro. The thermoplastic is great you can remold it yourself to suit. Something to talk about with your physio anyway.

    no colors how boring!

    Your break is nasty. ouch.

Its a bit Funny in my house at the moment. On the day before the ride my 4 1/2 yr old jumped off the roof of a playgym and broke both bones in his arm! So he is in a full cast up past his elbow. Then last night I agravate an old injury in my good wrist so have to wear braces on both hands for a few days   We get some odd looks when we go out.
My hubby works in wagga wagga, so thank god I have a very capable 12yr old at home…..she thinks her brother and her mother are idiots by the way ;)
