    Hi all

Read somewhere that the response time of the spot tracker can be up to 8hrs is this true? Still a good thing though . Mate had an off about 2 months ago 10km past the trig
on the Finchly , brocken ankle in two places , gashed his knee open and damage his shoulder. No tracker , no mobile service , no first aid kit . Question . Do i leave him to get
help , has he got internal bleeding ? Wouldent have been 5 minutes later and around
the corner comes mister ranger and his first aid kit , wot are the odds of that . Loaded mate into the ute 1hr later he was in the ambo heading to hospital .
    I need a spot tracker

    cheers bones

Honestly Bones, I hope to not test the response times at all mate
But Diddel once was rescued when he broke his leg, I am unsure of the total details on times etc, but he was choppered out I believe from Sugarloaf area.

Very handy to check in with the family, without the dramas of trying to get a call or sms out to them (which as we know is sometimes impossible where we go riding most of the time)
I have been known to forget to do that at times too  :)

Got it all working fine, sends messages for Checkin/Ok as well as Custom messages etc
Now just to test the best position on the bike. Considering wearing it on my camelback chest straps, and will also trial it in the top of the Tank Bag on the Wauchope run ;)

    Bring That On :woohoo:

Yeah, I thought that was the case, looks like the tankbag is the go then for this run till I can sort something else
Not keen on another thing on the bars at present :pinch:

Maybe strapped to the back of the bike on top of the bags like I think Nick does at times ????

On your body if you ride by yourself, on the bike if you ride in a group or with someone. Thinking is that on your own in a crash you need in on yourself if you crash and can’t get to the bike. In a group doesn’t matter a big black rats fat as somebody, anybody can set it off on your behalf.

Hard to get the logo to face the sky on your body ????? Unless you stick it to the top of your lid  :P
On shoulder would be pain in the arse hitting the side of your helmet etc

I suppose it is best on the body in the case of an off for sure (so you can hopefully hit the button) just not so good for tracking function, but the rescue alarm is the priority ;)

Thanx, I will give it all some thought

Boulder`s was on the blink the whole trip pretty much

Nicks worked perfectly as did yours, so on the shoulder might be an option then for solo riding :)
    Cheers

As far as Boulders goes I think it was explained the link was incorrect, if any www. address is wrong it won’t work

Nah, you will see when you have a look,,, It cames on a few times at various locations, but was very poor in the tracking (unless he turned it on at the said locations only, but I doubt that)

Maybe “Good as Gold” Boulder was just too quick for the satellites to log onto him
    Yeah, that`s it :woohoo:

Well, The Spot seemed to work pretty well on the recent Wauchope-Nundle run ;)
All messages came thru relatively quickly & the tracking function kept the missus happy & off my back

I ran it strpped to my camelback shoulder strap (next to my helmet, with logo facing the sky) & it didn`t bother me once the whole trip. Was a bit of a bugger to see what button to push when sending messgaes though

Overall extremely happy with the unit & peace of mind it gives ;)

Looked like a good position you had it in Eags. I thought they tracked pretty through the storm and heavy tree cover on the little hill :pinch:
