I am running 13 48 on my gg300 at the moment and the front sprocket is getting tired but the rear and chain are not bad. I usually do 2 fronts to a rear and chain. If i throw a 12t on the front am i adding any extra load to the gearbox then if i went to a 50 on the rear? I read somewhere it is not the desired way to gear it down cause of this but i cant see the problem.

    Thanks in advance Nato

    Hey Nato,
Not sure about any effect on the engine but I would be inclined to change the rear as you have plenty of room to go up from a 48. Going to a 12 on the front is too tight a wrap and will wear your chains more quickly.

Try a combo of 14/52 nato.. that leaves less of a turn angle up front(which will help with chain wear and will still give you the punch you desire!!!. ;) ;) ;)
