    So I get the new Husaberg, first bike in ages blah, blah, blah (everyone knows the story by now) … Anyway;

The new bike is pretty much all stickers except for the integrated graphics on the tank shrouds … thing is, many of the stickers are all lifted on the edges in various places and now with some dirt under them there’s no way they’re sticking back down!

What do most of you do? Trim them with a Stanley knife? Peel them off (it’s just black plastic underneath on the back end [blah]) Replace them with some sticker-bling?

In “my day” about the only stickers on the bike was your race number, a couple of cool brand one’s you might chuck on, and the one’s on the tank, and they usually came off after a couple of weeks!

From what I have heard it used to be the Husky’s that had sticker trouble if memory serves.

I have used silastic in the past. Use some white spirit or something to clean off the dirt, even if you have to peel them back a bit more then apply some silastic and wipe off the excess. You may need to hold it down until it goes off as well.

Silastic will stick to just about anything, I remember an apprentices toolbox being stuck to the concrete floor at work a few years ago, we just about destroyed the thing trying to get it off.

If that fails I have also used a stanley knife to trim off the offending section.

you cant scatch your stickers then when you come off then either
I have heard you can get them replaced under warranty
if you get on to it soon I just didnt bother about it
    see how you go

Get some clear nail polish and run it all the way around the edges of your stickers and that will help them from pealing up.
Sorry that doesnt really help with the ones that have already pealed up :pinch:

    Yeah for the nail polish,,,,
You can actually get stuff for decals called “Edge Sealer” I think 3M make it…
Just like nail polish but industrial strength
I`d go the warranty line for new decals then edge seal `em from new ;) Unless you are not too fussed about it

Good idea … plus I’m trying the hairdryer to hopefully reinvigorate the glue (not that I own a hairdryer) …. paint stripping gun thingy

Razzle – The Berg stickers are notoriuos for being awful. So bad in fact that the dealers usually replace them under warranty no questions asked. My dealer even told me about it the day I bought the bike.

I have however just bought a new sticker kit as a few crashes later and my stickers looked very ordinary (they don’t do well scraping against rocks!). Since Sutto’s have just done a full engine rebuild of my bike under warranty I figured I’d spare them the warranty claim for the stickers B)

I bought a factory kit which is pretty similar and cheap(ish) at $155. You can buy the stock graphics kit but it’s about $250. A decent decal kit from a reputable company will cost more but it will also last ages, probelm for me was all the designs I saw I didn’t really like, I prefer the stock look on the Berg.

yep eventually you’ll get sick of the look of a bare bike, and kick yourself for not getting them :pinch: And getting good quality stickers is tough. i got some reproduction jobs from Mexico (vic) only yo have em bubble then peel and tear… lasted all of about 6 rides.

    My plan would be:

    1) get new stickers under warranty if possible. Don’t put them on and save them for when you sell the bike so you can bling it up then for a quick sale.

    2) Get onto ringmaster and get new sticker kit. I’ve had ringmaster on my bike for 3 years so far. They are good quality. I even put them on myself and they still worked.

    3) Don’t ride your bike without stickers. Scratched plastics look shit and once scratched you can’t just hide the scratches with a sticker. The sticker won’t stick very well to a scratched surface and it will look lumpy if the scratches are deep. I’m pretty sure stickers are cheaper than new plastics.
