    how do i actually take the spring off the strut ??? has it got anything to do with the screw,

    No you punch the flange to expose circlip have pm a pic for you. You will have to set the sag on your bike once you have fitted your new spring you will need two people to do this.

    Give me a call if you get stuck.

    the newer models must be different,,a mate came around and we couldn’t find a circlip anywhere.
    so with sum deliberating we stuck it in a vice and screwed it apart.. and it worked good till the oil came spurting out….got the new spring on..just gotta get it refilled now….
    anyone have a rough idea what the cost of that would be ….

    As far as I know the shock is the same on later models, the seat at the bottom of shock as in picture can be a bit hard to move and requires some love with a drift. I think you may have to take shock to a bike shop to have oil filled and have them check it out.

    must be different coz there definetly wasn’t a clip there…and the ring doesn’t come off like you see in the picture its all one piece and the metal isn’t a shinee type like the pic

    you will be lucky to get out of it for under $200

    oil = $30
    Regas = $40+
    labour = 1.5hrs at approx $85 $130

    but it will be done right and you wont have to worry about it throwing you in the scrub

    ok..just wound the large nut on the rear shock down 5 turns to assist with rear shock sag, see how it helps now the fronts all new and done, still have the clickers to play with on the front as steve set them on factory settings.
