Back in 02 some sh@t bag broke into my garage and stole a RM250 and a XR600, they where both chained and in a locked garage, I was asleep above the garage and never heard a thing. When I reported it, to the cops they told me that there had been 22 dirt bikes stolen in the area in the last six months. I had no insurance, It took me nearly a year to save for another bike. I was gutted!!
Where are these bikes ending up? any of you other OB’s had a bike stolen or a close call? Ever got one back? When that guy in the pub asks if you want to buy a cheap dirt smack him in the mouth for all of us.
Trust no one.KTM01

The thing that really pisses me off is that people are buying them, so the circle continues. I have three bikes in the stable these days and YES one is a XR and if they where stolen I would be F@@@@@@@RRRRRKKKKED.
Some one know’s these thieving bastards and does’nt say anything.KTM01

Funnty question that one…If it was an HQ holden that got stolen, straight up you’d know it ws going to th wreckers?! Today With bikes, I dont so much think its the wreckers as much as it is part thieves. Eg..your bikes are being recycled for spares by owners of like Modeled bikes.
December 16, 2008 at 12:52 pm #115096If you get your car stolen you have a chance you will see it again, sometimes you wish you hadn’t. But a motorcycle you just dont see them again they just vanish never to be seen again.
I think most dirt bikes that go missing end up on farms or broken up for parts. The sad part is that the cops tell you that they are to easy to part out!! They just dont have the time or the staff to chase it up. :angry:December 16, 2008 at 1:18 pm #115117boulder wrote:

Its happening everyday to some one, unfortunately.KTM01

AnonymousI have been lucky so far. I take extra procautions to try and at least make it harder for the rotton theiving pricks. Our bikes are insured but it would still suck bat to have your pride and joy knocked off. I did hear at one stage in the Lake Macquarie / Newcastle are that there was two scumbags in a white Hiace van getting around casing out places with bikes, making a list for their scumbag mates and coming back later to knock the bikes off.
I just hope that all the slimey pricks that knock bikes off get whats coming to them, also the people that buy the stolen bikes get some of the same. Karma is a strong and real thing.
December 16, 2008 at 7:46 pm #115119I have always thought it would be poetic justice if the thieves broke their necks riding a stolen bike. Like DanD says Karma is a strong and real thing.
December 16, 2008 at 8:34 pm #115123Who buys the bits and pieces, dont they know what they are doing or dont they care?

AnonymousTB The people that buy the stolen parts may not be aware that they have come from a stolen bike or simply don’t care. How many wreckers have you walked into and thought that the place looked a bit dodgy? Nearly all of them I would say. I am not trying to stereo type wreckers or parts recyclers to be PC. But it would be pretty easy for them to break a bike down and flog the bits off. Engine cases and frames might be a bit harder to move as they are numbered, nothing that a touch of a Dremel would’nt fix I suppose.

A thief stole a KTM 520 and was wheelstanding it away from the house,he obviously could ride ok,trouble was the front tyre was flat from a puncture,so when the wheel touched the road at 80km/h it washed out,the thiefs head hit the gutter and he was killed instantly:laugh: The KTM only suffered a few minor scratches:laugh:

AnonymousJeez boys death might be a bit harsh. Permanent disfigurment with a disability might be more fitting for the crime.
Wait a minute they are theiving rotton pieces of crap. DEATH to em all.
December 16, 2008 at 10:06 pm #115133I wonder if they even consider the hardship they cause the victims of the thefts??

If I didn’t have insurance and my bike went missing that would be the end of riding. I could not afford to replace them. -
