Just a heads up to our guys on the Coffs Coast, Prime news reported the other day that 20 dirt bikes have been stolen in the last month, in and around Coffs, mainly from rural and semi rural areas.

Make sure you have your bikes well and truely secured guys. There seems to be a gang of low lives working the area.

Makes you wonder what ever happens to all those bikes.

    Hi Mick
I pushed that story to the newsroom after speaking to Corey8. As it is the cops job to catch the low life or recover bikes the story warned locals and gave tips on bike security courtesy of Coffs KTM. They showed locking options and gave the reminder that if you garage your bike with the front wheel removed and left in the house is the biggest deterent to thieves. They may be equipped to cut locks but are screwed if they can’t roll it away.

“would you like to buy a 2011 YZ for $2000 ?” I suppose some would be broken up for parts ???? They are pricks but the people that buy them are just as much at fault. I hate thieving bastards.!!! I would so like to load up my bikes the night before an early start ride but I can’t. You can’t let anybody know you have got them. Sucks!!!!

Top idea, take the front wheel off :) easy and affective, that along with the locks can save some heart ache.
    I like good ideas :cheer:

Do that with your postie Pete your orange shitbox will be right they wont touch that

Seriously I had a XR600 stolen when I lived at Wyee years ago. It was chained to a pole and had two discs brake locks fitted. You could see where they wheeled it out on skate boards
It’s a good idea but if they want it a wheel missing won’t stop them it’s seems they are organised

Yep, Remove both wheels and store them elsewhwere if you are away for extended times :) (A mates place etc)

But alas, as TB said, I have heard of them carrying skateboards or even trolleys they are that keen to move bikes
Even heard that scumbags had lifted a Harley out over a car in a garage locally here a while back, scratched the shit out of the cars bonnet in the process (but still got the bike) . Car was pinned up against the Harley & back brick wall, wheel clamps on the car & Harley was chained to the floor too :pinch:

Just track em down & shoot the pricks !!!!

You can make an effective anti theft device using a shotgun shell and a rat trap.
