    BULL MASTIF :)

we havent got a bull mastiff ive just got a corgi and when he barks of a night time you know theres someone out there and then its just a quick couple of speed dials on the phone to other bike owners in the street and hey PRESTO, intsant lynch mob, havent been out this way for a while since we got together and put this plan in place

Good plan Husky but what if you or others go away, is it an attack & restrain corgi?

My bigger dogs are fully food trained, meaning they only eat in a certain situation with certain commands, unfortunately my old collie died last year at 15, he was an absolute deterrent, thigh high 40 kilos no fat a body and a head like a german shepherd with total alpha personality only took orders from me the wife or my best mate, no-one else could touch him if we weren’t home and he had proven himself on half a dozen occassions including dragging a bloke legs first out of my old next door neighbours kitchen window, then giving him a good mauling for measure before the bloke got away, he got a leg of lamb every Xmas from them after that, he also taught his Great Grandson (my current Alpha -male) and the retriever bitch his ways of property protection.

Two fences, two padlocks, 6′ steel fencing on either side, greyhounds loose in rear neighbours and one side, locked shed within locked shed, remote sensor alarm in shed, cutting tools locked in cabinet or seperate shed, bikes have snig chains and kryptonite cable through wall studs good locks and embedded H/T ring in floor. Cul-de-sac and excellent neighbours, in fact my son (hes 8) rang the cops a few months back when him and his mate saw a teenager breaking into the old ducks house up the road, cops got the mongrel too…. :cheer: , reinforced the youngs lads sense of duty as a bonus
    Then there’s the feral occupants

Why would they risk it surely there’s an easier way for a scumbag to thieve than to risk my place.

I don’t have a dog anymore but I have to say I’d rather have my bike pinched than my dog baited and lets face it if they want it that’s exactly what the scum bags will do! Same goes for shooting them. Sounds great but I guess I’m just not that type of guy so I insure my bike to cover it and lock it up to try and prevent it. As much as they deserve some justice I wouldn’t want that in my life.

    Speaking of insurance.

Road registered XR650R insured for $6000 Full comprehensive
    Cost to insure $235 PA
    (NRMA wanted $545 for same)

    Unregoed KX85 insured for $3500 Fire/theft
Cost to insure $355 PA (NRMA wouldnt touch)

$120 a year more, to insure the KX85 for less value
    Go figure?

QBE have quoted me $440 for mine and arista/famous were the same previously.

Be careful with famous, I very clearly specified I needed comprehensive insurance (a requirement by the financier) and they gave me 3rd party with transport cover and something else. When I asked them about it they said I wanted that one due to price. I said no such thing!! I told them to get a copy of the recorded call and check.

the comprehensive quote was $800 so I asked for my money back (it took 14 days) went elsewhere.

I edited my last post as you where probably typing. See why above.

Sorry Moto it was me trying to have a bit of colour banter. It is obvious now to me that you didn’t get it.

Back on topic it does suck bat to have to lock your bikes up so much just to stop the scumbags.

Famous bought out arista and changed their products. When it was arista I think I paid about $400 for full comprehensive but they couldn’t renew it for near that. QBE will beat any verifiable quote.

The prices I quoted where Western Underwriters I think.
