Sorry folks, but I am pulling the pin. Rode Stroud on Tuesday and the bike took a hammering from dragging it under trees. Actually caught fire at one stage. Smoke with smell of electrical burning from behind headlight. Made it back ok but next morning no electrics at all. Totally flat battery and a melted main fuse.
Investigated the wireing at the back of the headlight and found a connection from the ignition switch had shorted out and the insulation had smouldered causing the smell and smoke.
Collateral damage was a broken indicater, tool bag ripped of the back and my speedo cable hanging loose.
So, as the battery is over 6 years old I have ordered a new one instead of trying to charge the old one.
I will leave it up to Paul (Training Wheels) to lead the ride if he wants to.
Once again I apologize, not good form to organise a ride then pull out.
