Vincent has his dad over from NZ and wanted to take him out for a run around the central coast. Mick was tasked to pull together an interesting ride for the day with a mix of technical stuff and some open free flowing trails. He didn’t disappoint us on both accounts.

So at 8am Vincent, Bernard (Vincent’s Dad – a fiesty 60ish yr old man), Mick and I left Tuggerah and headed out for some fun.

I decided to do what I thought was the easy route…. but just after this photo a tree came out at me and hit me on the arm… next thing i know I’ve crashed into Vincent’s Bike and laid it flat then decided to t-bone Bernard who was sitting on his bike watching the entertainment….. How clever is that… down my bike and take two with me….. got to share the pain around… Thankfully Mick was more concerned about me and didn’t have time to get a photo in…….I had BLONDE moment….. nice bruise…. good way to start the ride.

Had another special moment towards the end of the ride that can only be described as an ‘ouchie’ one… down hill with big rutt that consumed my front tyre…. somehow bike stopped and I went sideways. With bike pinning me down and fuel covering my legs I was happy to see Vincent trying to lift it off me…. this time is was a left side impact on my hip and shoulder… heard the AC Joint crack again… bugger…. found that if I got back on the bike and ride hard the pain would go away…it did… the couple of rum/cokes and painikillers at Mick’s place helped…

Thanks Vincent and Mick for helping me out during the day. Vincent – your dad is amazing and I only hope that when I get to my middle 60’s that I’m just as fit and adventurous as he is….

Good report Kat! Those mud holes look nasty, I bet they stunk!
