The Sunny Corner Rally has been run and won for another year. Two sweet loops of approx 80kms each with a fast open loop with a amazing fresh single track in the pines near Marys, and a single track feast at the south end.

September 19, 2011 at 1:13 am #209149Good pics Galey,
I think that we all had a great weekend, the weather was perfect, on the Sunday there was a slight breeze that made visibility from the dust a lot better than the day before.September 20, 2011 at 3:31 am #209150Sunny corner loam  stone king should sponser the rally. Did any one win any prizes? maybe a 450? heard the numbers where down, better odds

September 23, 2011 at 9:51 am #209347Great day. I live only an hour or so away and had always wanted to get up to it. Left early sunday morning to catch up with some mates who landed there Saturday. Didn’t know you could ride on saturday otherwise i would have done it as well. Bugger.
Dust was not too bad. at least the wind kept most of it away.
Really good WE. I think i was the ONLY person there not to win ANYTHING!

Clakeyktm scored a bike pack
must have beeen 700 odd riders. didnt seem like it on the trails .
NFHU i live 20 mins away and yes saturday was just as good as sunday. some arrows were yet to go up but our group (The Awesome Foursome) had fun piecing together the loop from the sponsor day. An extra night camping is a bonus as well.

Friday at Camp Galey
Arrived early and set up camp. I staked out a large area for all the OB and Bathurst lads. Turned out that another camp was set up at the Rally site. Oops. Sent a pic to the lads to show them that I was kicking back and they were still at work. Note to self: don’t get there too early as I had no one to bench race with. Still the beer was nice and I had no one to argue with. At least I could watch the kiddies racing around and buzzing my camp on their Honda race bikes!!!
Unloaded the mountain of fire wood and cut some more with the chainsaw. Just to get me used to the 2st zing and to make my own noise. 👿Clarkeyktm turned up and mucked around getting things sorted. I shoved a beer in his hand when he arrived to get his weekend started. We kicked back to wait for Gocman to roll up and cook the BBQ. We met a nice bloke called Daz who camped near us until he found his mates that were coming to the rally. Well he just made some new mates. Other than being a Yamaha rider he seemed cool enough to hang around, which he did for the rest of the rally even when he found his mates camp site. It must have been the OBT spirit.
Day turned to night and finally Gocman arrived to cook said BBQ. A couple of lovely T-bones and snags plus some greens were downed while we chillaxed by the camp fire. The beers and JD flowed until commonsense forced us to our swags ready for the trails on Saturday.
