Thanks for the offer ECKS, the money is not the point I had more than $1000 worth of fun that weekend and didn’t ride the 2nd day :(

The bit that really grinds on me is the people that have the complaints normally say it behind your back they tell someone one thing and when questioned or on the site will say the complete opposite they must think people are fools or they are themselves. People talk it gets back. Thing is people know so they are kidding themselves, a PM or phone is the better way as well.

If you are going to organise a big ride you got to weigh up the lumps and bumps against the good bits.

The irony of all this is, that the people that do the whinging and whining are more than likely never going to grab the bull by the horns and organise a ride themselves. If they did they would soon realise, it isn’t just posting the ride on a website and hoping people turn up.

Yeah thats right Mick, I like it but used to really worry the back flipper it used to really piss me of but I know to expect it from that person now so it doesnt worry me, the other 99.9% that go are the reason those that organise them do it ;)

Next year Dan D and I are organising a charity ride to raise money so we will see how that goes :)

TB and Mick – I agree with you both 100%. I can’t say that I have organised or led as many rides as yourselves but from the ones that I have done and even co-organised with TB there is a whole lot of stuff that goes into a running a ride. I reckon you end up more stuffed after a ride when your out the front. Please dont think that I havent enjoyed organising and running rides and will continue to do so, but there is a massive amount of preperation involved. It is all worth it though when you see happy people at the end of a ride and get to read their perspective on their ride reports.

I like menaces ride organisation best, he books the accomodation, tells you when and where to turn up then says someone else read the map im hopeless with directions, then we just ride and try not to get too lost or lose any people. It was good, if we found a track we liked we just went down it again.

Who Knows mate, who knows, I have heard several stories about a guy in newcastle that ripped the cancer foundation off in such a scam, a bunch of riders(250 odd) went and paid ol-mate and when the appointed day rolled around there was no ride organized and he was nowhere to be found, I hope he got cancer himself the mongrel

Rode last year with morgo and Dr Don. Have to say it is the heaviest rain I have ever rode in and we had a ball.
the afternoon loop was propably the most demanding just because of the rain.
Boony you would have no probs.
like morgo said its good to ride other areas and socialise

really sounds like we will have to put all our opinions and the politics aside one year and enter a team… I am keen for next year just to then be able to have a first hand comment…Count me in for next year.

I have been offered an entry for this year and have permission so looks like I’m going, not my ideal ride with 900 others but something I want to experience.

    Chris.
