I was organised to lead a ride to Capertee yesterday but the organiser rang Sunday night and cancelled the ride.
I had the bike on the trailer and the ute packed so I was riding regardless.
GaleyKTM300 was on the list to go and I knew he would still be keen. A text or 2 later and we had a quick spin to Capertee organised.
We headed off around 10:30am in a cool breeze. We didn’t do any single tracks on the way up as we were short on time and I’m nursing an injury that I don’t want to aggravate. Galey being the Taddy of our local guys blasted up slate hill and met back at the intersection. He also flew down one of the harder hill while I tok the easier track.
We set a comortable pace and rode the full length of the Pinnacle track. We only stopped once on the way up. We got Capertee with enough time for great hamburger and chips at the servo. I used 5L of fuel and Galey used 3L and we only rode 51 km I think.
On the way back we tried to up the pace a bit but the hamburger and chips were sitting real heavy and we both stuggles to find any mojo ( as the video will show). We calmed down and cruised for a bit until Galey (or Taddy as we’ll call him now) got a wiff of slate hill again. He shot off to do a quick lap of Slate and meet back at the start to do a quick single before aiming for home. Galey also showed me where he high sided himself on the birthday ride. He is very lucky not to have ended up next to Mick in hospital.
We picked up a few nice tracks on the way home to complete a few hours of good riding. Didn’t take any photos but got a bit of gopro footage. Sorry about looking at my handle bars when I’m sitting. I’m going to look at other monting points soon.

Yeah file dramas are sorted for now. I have one more video to edit and I’m gong to try your free program.
Haven’t mounted the gopro on the helmet as I’m not a fan of seeing part of the helmet in the footage and also having the camera sitting out there waiting to be ripped off. I’d like to try and mount it on the mouth piece of the helmet. That would be an interesting angle.

Not really. I’m paying for it today.
June 21, 2011 at 12:51 am #203773Have you torn the medial meniscus or something like I did ???
Damn stabbing pain like a knife snapped off in there :whistle:June 21, 2011 at 1:05 am #203809Top stuff Mal5.1 “can ride”. Excellent quality vids. If I knew you were filming then i may have turned the wick up a little….but the last time I did that …well you saw the evidence of that! May have to get a cam one day! I liked the positioning but Yes a little higher may be better.
I had to laugh  at the way you tackled those downed trees…I swear you nearly got bucked off once or twice. :woohoo: How was that high speed run!! I saw a dollar 34 before that fox/dog/Yowie thing spooked me, and you kept in it! Who’s idea was it to fill our guts with those burgers anyway? Those rocks felt a little bigger on the return run.
I did laugh going up Slate Hill those times where the sweeps on the ride out from the OB Capertee ride got stuck. Easy done .No names as I would only be guessing.I reckon we should do a similar thing with the OBT gang after your knee op. Maybe a tad longer and harder with some woose cuts if you need them. Stay tuned.
Cheers
