June 21, 2011 at 1:59 am #203774Good qual clip Mal was like being there, bugger re the knee mate, hope it heals fast. Youd get itchy feet staying off the bike for too long i reakon.
June 21, 2011 at 2:14 pm #203813There are a lot of mounting options and I will be keen to see how your experiments go.
If you get the angle right on top of your lid you don’t end up with too much visor showing. As for knocking it off that 3M tape and mounting hardware is super tough. If it gets ripped off you will know about it. I had it happen once and it took a big hit on a low branch to do it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=HK2ELL4midg

I was roosted by the mighty GasGas 300.
June 21, 2011 at 4:01 pm #203819Hey King, that vid there reminds me of my last ride with Murph. The only difference is nearly every track looked like that creek!
I wouldn’t be mounting my cam on top of my helmet. I’d go the side of the mouthguard or something like that.Mal the footage looks and sounds better when your standing IMO. Love the 2 stroke. The adrenalin pumps just listening to the fury.
June 22, 2011 at 12:19 am #203822Thanks STM, oopppss sorry KING STM, I remember seeing that video and that’s one reason I didn’t want to put it on top of the helmet. Might try it anyway just for testing purposes.
Axel I usually stand up a lot more so the footage is better. But my knee and lack of fitness would only let me stand when I thought I should.
Three videos to go. Here the first two and the last will be uploaded later tonight.
Everyone from the birthday ride should remember this bit.

This one is edited with STM free program in the DIY thread. Thanks mate it works a treat.
June 22, 2011 at 4:28 pm #203775Great report and vids Mal. You fellas are lucky you get to go on those week-day rides with no one on the trails.
Galey, you will have to show me the spot of this infamous high-side I keep hearing about!
I love the hill about 4 mins into the first video btw… we rode that about a year ago on a Bathurst DSMRA ride in the wet and it was like riding on soap; there were bikes strewn everywhere. I think the video may even be on youtube…
June 22, 2011 at 4:41 pm #203846Yes Mick you are right. Mal 5.1″can ride” led that one as well while I swept/laughed, you had your 200 and 2 good legs/knees Marty400 had a 400 and it was slippery as. I saw people riding back down and I thought what has “can ride “got in store for us here, but as with any good hill ,momentum and not much wheelspin are king. No dramas with it on Monday, just sit in the 4×4 tracks and go. You may notice “can ride” is crabbing up the hill with the front wanting to climb out and go elsewhere.

June 22, 2011 at 4:52 pm #203847Hey Mick. How’s the leg?
Here’s the videos form the DSMRA ride. This is you on the 200 and I think Marty was there as well. Medogrocket and I lead that ride for you guys. That hill is always slippery but didbolical in the rain.
June 22, 2011 at 6:11 pm #203826Hey Mal, your brave doing ST with a bung knee. Every cm is a potential hazzard!
The 3:58 vid above got me grinning in the first few moments. A creek crossing, distracted with wiping camera, wet tires, Mal falls off the track to the left, dodges tree
June 22, 2011 at 6:19 pm #203848GDay Mick, hope the leg and knee are healing well, Galey is missing the ring of two strokes in the bush.
Great videos Mal some good footage there.
Yes i certainly remember that hill, doesnt look much but was slippery as that day.June 23, 2011 at 12:50 am #203861axel wrote:Hey Mal, your brave doing ST with a bung knee. It was only the pine single that worried me Axel. Riding is always a calculated risk and the knee just factors into the calculations.
3:58 looked worse than it was. I didn’t want to stop and do it or Galey (Taddy) would be gone and I would never catch him.
