 Its finally happened,,,,
The OBT Super Commuter has sprung a leak (oil leak that is)
Started on the Jurds Ride & has been getting worse
She now has just over 15,200 k on her, so she has had a great run untouched pretty much;)
It has been getting a fair run at FULL NOISE lately too:laugh:
Looks like a Head Gasket problem, so she is gonna sit in the shed for a little bit:(
I`m flat out at work from now till Louee getting the boat ready for Sea Trials   :blink:Now comes the saga,,,,
To bite the bullet & do the 300 kit means talkin` the handbrake around:unsure: or just fix the gasket & stay as she is???I know what the response will be from you lot:laugh: GO THE 300:woohoo:
I will have to work on it

August 28, 2009 at 9:30 am #150441Having fitted a 300 kit to one of those Beagle, I am happy to travel up one saturday arvo and fit it for you, would take about 2.5 hrs, would rather do it in Dans shed as he has tooling you dont. Free of charge for you.
If you decide to just fix the oil leak, get the required gaskets a set of rings and I will knock it apart, hone and ring it and reseal good as new, same location same deal cost bugger all

You are the man,,,
I know of your experience with the mighty Green Machines:laugh: and am gonna do some research asap next week on $$$ & availability of parts etcI figure that if its gonna be stripped down, a 300 kit would be ideal to do ???
Your kind assistance would be greatly appreciated and some black cans would come into p[lay as well no doubt:laugh:
I will not accept your help for free:P
Cheers
August 28, 2009 at 9:44 am #150447Beagle in all honesty if the dollars are a little tight with work in the future just reseal it, happy days, couldnt see the parts costing more then $80 or so, rings, base gasket and a head gasket, tappet gasket on those can be reused
