June 14, 2009 at 12:48 pm #135813So Guys any takers.
June 15, 2009 at 1:15 am #139478Hang in there Mr Rat (got a hat?) I had to drop the price $500 on a beautiful ’06 with as much as you could get away with scruntineering in SE QLD, had MPE tuned suspenders, the big carby, the hardparts pipe, cleaned up in side, two clutches, three seats, braided brakes and a few billet bits, all because the dealers are selling the older model for next to nothing ATM apparently.
You’ll move it, it’s a ripper can only imagine the acceleration it has.

June 20, 2009 at 3:36 am #140334Modified cyl head ,lower silcone rad hose
For a serious racer ill also mod the water pump
I picked the KTM 50 because my boy had one and the Rats and was watching them at a race and i commented to the Rat that the engines were going off the power after 10min and the last 5min sounded diferent and were not throwing as much roost
The Rat came back with some KTM propaganda about the slipper clutch generating too much heat and causing the whole motor to over heat (the sad part KTM still think this is the problem)I said what a load of crap and did some testing and found a very sad cooling system no water is pumped after 7000 rpm aprox so made some proto types and got the Rats boys and mine to test it for some seasons
Note have tested a few bikes and all have similar issues and thinking of it so do all the cars i’ve tested
I now have some nice parts made and have it all sorted
things the Rat and myself have noticed since the mod
wont over heat with continual use tank after tank
Piston rings dont wear out
the stator doesn’t fail due to the engine cases not heat distorting
no power fadeJune 20, 2009 at 3:37 am #140335Trailboss wrote:

TB are you sure you really want to know, I have seen you before have dramas with concepts that dont fit the normal way of thinking, I was there myself a few years ago, and thanks to Bulls perseverance I now have bikes that dont require the service intervals, and I also have bikes that are crisper than any out there, I am also obsessed with tunes on 2strokers and this coupled with Bulls obsession with the cooling system deficiencies made a perfect partnership my boys have reaped results from…..
Thanks Bull:) and I cant wait to get the next Moto-Cool Treatment/Development/Fitting done again

No water is pumped after 7000 rpm aprox so made some proto types Most engines will drop pump volumes to unacceptable rates much lower than that we see this at work in a our dyno testing
Note have tested a few bikes and all have similar issues and thinking of it so do all the cars i’ve testedI now have some nice parts made and have it all sorted

Piston rings dont wear out I have a problem with that to a point, as running an engine to cool and lower then its designed running temperature increases wear rates by over 25%, 90% of engine wear is when an engine is cold remember
the stator doesn’t fail due to the engine cases not heat distorting that would help yeah especially on those little katosno power fade and again would help that no end

My thoughts Bull, good job

The ring wear is due to heat distorion of the piston barrell this is severe when there is no coolant flow and steam pockets appear in the high spots
Cold running wear is an issue, one I have to remind the Rat of reguarly and am astounded at the no of bikes that go out cold started at the 30 sec board then have the shit reved out of them till the gate drops
