Think i answered my own question. If theres doubt, its wrong. So I made up a bracket and it now sits between the forks under the headlight assembly.

just keep it away from that giant molotov cocktail of a tank that you have JAK:laugh:

i havent fitted mine yet, been too busy.

they have $175 bucks on the packet….bargain!!!!!!!

thanks Mal, and all of the suttos crew, and especially TB and all at OBT for my voucher:) :) :) :)

Yeh its well away from the tank.;)

Rode the bike down to the car wash about an hour ago and the heaters work well. As said earlier high is probably too high as even in this cold it started getting a bit warm.

Added this Water Proof Fuse Holder inline near the battery on the KLX to run the Grip Heaters,,,

Currently has a 10amp fuse,,, Is this big enough ??? Or shpuld I run a 20amp???

It runs fine, the heaters are awsome on the Low setting, may run on HIGH at Nundle next sat mornin` though

    Any Thoughts,,, FUSE_HOLDER.jpg

    Bugger – should I have put a fuse in-line?

I was so happy with the professional wiring job that I done and mounting the resistor but I didn’t fuse them.

How long does it usally take to get them hot?

Thats good obviuosly I got everything right cause I can feel ours in about the same time. Did you wire yours off the battery or the light circuit? I done ours off the low beam wire on the headlight.

Ummed & arred for a few days,,, then wired direct from the Battery (with the heavy duty stainless switch with rubber boot (from Bias Boating);)

You should be fine with the wiring anyway,,,,
I did mine from the battery purely as I am commuting a lot & didn`t want the risk of the wire shorting out & losing the headlight whilst on the Blacktop:blink: Its DARK every mornin` & most arvos for me,,,

Thats the main reason for the direct battery hook up!!!

Plus the KLX is a wiring rats nest behind the headlight:huh:    :)
Simple route for me to the black box,,,

now it seems fine. and yamaha australia now boasts that the new models have a new upgraed charging system. for extra fun!!! extra fun because the bike starts again after 40mins now.

I remember that problem well – Kylie’s TTR230 had the same problem – funny how a Yamaha f**k up has became a feature now.

But to give Yamaha credit they did fix Kylie’s even though it was out of warranty.
