Sydney Based Mid Week Rider

Hi, I’m based in Sydney and been riding again for about a year after a long spell off the dirty’s. With my job I get some days off mid week to ride. Hoping to find other keen mid week riders wanting to day ride near Sydney. Also up for any other good riding. Gotta go, Assen GP about to start.

Welcome aboard Burns1. Due to my employment most of my riding is done midweek. I prefer midweek rides anyway, you get the trails to yourself without the weekend warriors.

What do you ride?

Scotty I’m on an old 98 RMX250 at the moment. Its way newer than my last trail bike so it feels modern to me even though its old. Put a PWK carb on it with is better. I’ve been able to keep up with most other riders, except traction is noticeably less. One day I’ll update, but its kinda fun trying to keep up with a 14k 450 on a 2k ride.

Nothing wrong with the old RMX burns. They can hold their own against more modern machinery. I bought mine with the plan to update to a later model2 stroke but at the moment Im happy riding the RMX.

I will be off the bike of a couple weeks resting my knee after a little mishap last week but keep a lookout for some midweek ride posted soon.

Yep, I agree. They hold their own well. That could be mine in that awesome photo of yours. Only difference is I took all the heavy stock lights,blinkers,speedo,brackets off the handle bars. 2.5kg off the top of your steering. Makes the bike handle much better. Imagine a pushy with a 2.5kg bag of spuds tied to the handle bars. I’m out for a week too. Bruised ankle.

Hi Burns1,,,Welcome to OBT. I also like to get out for on a week day,also ride an RMX,also out of action atm, compliments of the old RMX. :laugh: I still like it though :unsure: :cheer: But will be looking to update asap.

Yeah that’s not the standard headlight and the speedo is in a box in the shed somewhere. I have just fitted a BRP top triple clamp and have ordered an FMF pipe and silencer for it. As I was saying I originally bought it as a reintroduction to 2 stroke with the plan of updating if I liked it. I like it so much I’m gunna keep it and do some more work to it. Next will be some suspension work. I fitted heavier springs but think the forks would benefit from a revalve.

I was looking to do a ride up Clarence on the 16/7 but will give it another week to see how my knee is before I lock it in.

Don’t go soft on us Teza and get one of those asthmatic 250 4 strokes. I recon a Gaser of KTM 300 would be right up your alley. :woohoo:

Yeh it’s a hard choice Scotty,but am looking to a 350 EXC or a 310 husky. I love the smokers ,but I’m not geting any yonger eather ,,,so yeh! I could be going soft on it :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
