AnonymousChampo so you reckon that Yamaha makes an ugly motor? Hmm I dont agree at all.
Tell me something – what makes an attactive motor on a bike?
Ever heard of “Function before fashion”

we found out the reason the new yzf450 is $1000 dearer. you lift the tank and you will find a little engineer inside

November 22, 2009 at 1:10 am #162066Great photos mate you made my day I wanted to go but I have to keep off my ankle.I went last year and it looks pretty much the same so the new yami wr looks the go how much 14grand plus?As for ducati if you go to the Ducati Penrith shop the freindly staff will let take one for a test ride!Just bring your lid(helmet).
November 22, 2009 at 4:41 am #162214Thanks guys and gal for the reports and pics for those of us that didn’t / couldn’t go. Tracy you are so cool I mean to sit on the back of the bike on a hot day like that while Rodney gets all the fun of riding good on you
The photos are awesome I love the GP bikes but cant understand what you mean Rodney here, maybe its me

but for some reason the bike makes me want to die slowly but early. must be the colour combo and little white dashes painted on it champoThe F800GS looks horn cheers for the photos
Looks below that the Yamaha’s exhaust is well clear of the spring (even thought the spring doesnt expand   )
So whoever’s friend thought it was hitting can rest easy
Those carbon fibre brakes are phat looking, should grab one for my motard setup
I cant see any real difference Dan in the look of a Yamaha’s engine to any other brand. I know they are a lot more reliable then most including the CRF’s. Don’t think the look of your engine has bugger all to do with jack (although my XR engine looks phat
)
Thanks again everyone for the effort to put your photos up
Cheers

really? take a look at a crf or husky engine one day or even an old british engine. engineering does not have to be ugly. there are subtle changes one can make to a design to make it effective, light, strong, cheap and desirable. It is a bit of higher order engineering design

But who could we get to model them??I think there is a market there for us Boulder. You were the true OBT brace wearing trendsetter, I mearly followed your lead mate
What do you reckon we get cracking on the 2010 OBT brace range.
The YZF450 looks the poo. When will they bring it over onto the WR?
Fuel Injection is the go – it will be happy days when the WR450 gets FI
One issue I could see with the new design is the fitting of larger tanks. The way the tank fits over the filter any large tank would no doubt need to be completely removed to get at the filter as I can’t see them making a large tank that is hinged like the standard one.
On the possitive side the filter is up nice and high, should be good for deep water crossings.

maybe they can run a tank down low, where the header used to be

AnonymousNice pics guys, some great looking bikes. Which I could have gone but had other things on. Man I’d love to have a ride of one of them Moto GP bikes.
And for the record that Tenere looks DISGUSTING! I’m glad they have the hook on the front, I can tie in to my towbar and drag it down the street
November 22, 2009 at 9:08 am #162281Hey Rodney
I know girls love sitting on the back of the bike Salina is one mate, but sometimes I think it would be fun for them to steer eh
I understand the Cassie Stoner bike thing now I never knew it was tobacco advertising  Thanks for that.
As far a the spring goes I now remember it was your mate that said it, yeah now I remember
that was funny, where was your mate from?
The fact that your now worried about good looking engines against functionality is your choice
Again thanks for the photos and report Rodney

i like the look of the tenere. i think zero needs some serious work. and i generaly like the look of ducatis but the off-road trail tourer looks like a double decker bus, and the super motard needs at least a new front guard and headlight. they are selling, so some people must like them
November 22, 2009 at 9:18 am #162287
AnonymousThe Zero’s look gay too. don’t think they will sell new technology like that very effectively when they look crap. they basically have MTB suspension too which won’t be helping matters.

I agree on the Ducati adventure tourer, ugly as especially compared to the Triumph Tiger that was opposite. That was a nice looking bike.
