Sydney Social Get Together

I’m new here so “don’t howl me down” if this is not practical or feasible…on occasions is there a Sydney Social Get Together?
What I mean is not a ride gathering…a get together for lunch, dinner or coffee to have a chat about bikes and other stuff.
I envisage it could be a regular event…for people who could make it…maybe Saturday or Sunday afternoons? Please give me your feedback whether it’s a good idea and where/when

we did one last year Mick. Me and Aido came up from melbourne for it.

Yes Menace is right as per normal, it was a great lunch. Twobanger, Mal5.1, Capt F, Sby250 and myself had a good lunch. It was a good quick catch up

And yes we had a lunch in Sydney it was a cracker, Mick and I discussed this years on the weekend actually while he was here. It is happening again, same sort of thing in June I think Mick said. Stay tuned

I think it’s a great idea and it would be good for it to be a bit more regular than once a year. Weekends are probably the best option. We’d probably ride up when we could and make a bit of a day of it. Perhaps it could be held in different parts of Sydney (North one time, South the next etc) to make it more accessible to “out of towners”.

Yeah Cathi…that’s exactly what I was suggesting re changing the venue around to suit everyone, ie location and tastes etc.

It is probably better to post up a time and place to get people to commit. Also for some of the married/attached brigade it can sometimes be hard to get a leave pass from their partners to go riding let alone a day or night out on the town with people they don’t know.

If you want a social night out come to Hampton on saturday the 22nd of this month, book a room at the pub there will 25 odd Old Bulls there that night, many more than a night out in Sydney damn safer as well :laugh: 1.5 hrs for Sydney ride up or bring your trail bike

Why not make partners welcome too?? :ohmy: I think the intention was for it to be a social event rather than a ride (correct me if I’m wrong).

That way they’d get to know some OBTers, put faces to names and might even be more inclined to give you your “leave pass” once they know who you’re riding with.

(Sorry if that’s a bit of wild suggestion. )

I PM’ed Kat in the last week about this social event idea…even if we just have a handful of OBT’ers get together this time and maybe next time make it bigger…no stress either way…let’s organize something in Sydney asap.

Thinking this type of get together could even extend to the occassional BBQ, and crashing overnight on garage floors or tents in the backyard. Get the chance to let your hair down, I guess.

We have a small place here as we live in a townhouse, but could put up 2 or 3 ppl. Theres a grassed area around the corner where you could do a commando tent overnight, as we know the neighbours and they are cool.

We are in Wollongong, which may detract from the “Sydney” side of things, but the Gong is a pseudo southern suburb of Sydney anyway.

Whatever suits most ppl.
