The suspension is exactly what the write ups said it is, very soft in the rear and it has very limited adjustments (your bad Yamaha  ) It will do the job if you ride like Mick :P but for a Grandmother or anybody else is way to soft even at pace for a lighter bloke. Brad at Tekniks said for the rear they had springs available and had shipped plenty of them for shops to fit but had never spent time with a complete bike getting one sorted end to end and learning it completely. So I will leave it there for 10 days while they sort it front and rear.

The other thing that is Yamaha’s bad is it doesnt have a lower rear chain guide to guide the chain onto the rear sprocket why Yamaha why  So I have got one lined up from Sutto’s and will have two lugs welded on the swingarm and fitted when its at Tekniks

Here is the guide, yeah a KTM part although I will not use the alloy protector just the plastic inner

I ordered a set of Motorrad crash bars today, in stock in Perth so I should have them for weekend fitment

    Tenere20006.jpg

I spoke with Whipps this morning regarding the custom bash plate I want. Dan was very helpful and we are organising a time for them to have the bike for a day or two to make and install it.

And then Tekniks ;) Not enough time in the day :(

Hey, stole this from ADVRider, but as you changed the front guard on the Tenere it kinda might interest you TB.

We had just ridden the exact same road. Now please explain to me how BMW finds it appropriate to fit an ornamental fender to the most off-road biased model in their range?

I would rather a dirty bike mate, but did he follow the BMW? Because unless he was reversing really fast how can the mud throw over his screen? Cause his wheel will throw mud out the back of his wheel if you think about it   And if you watch the TBAM called “TABM is all over it” video I got here with Josh Ballard on the cover. You see them crashing with front wheels locking up jammed with mud  and after they left the mud and are doing 110 on a road the dry mud falls down in the front tyre and jams it and puts him in hospital for 2 months

I decided to wait to see the Tenere in the flesh before passing comment. When I saw it up in the back of Mooses ute, it certainly looked a whole lot of bike. When it took 4 of us to safely get it down from the ute,I was convinced it was in fact a big Bike.(not as big and bulky as a KTM 990 Adventure though). AS TB was well affected by Rums, I threw my leg over it to ride it down to the shed and was surprised how tall it was as I was on tip toes in order to reach the ground and thought to myself that TB might struggle with it when the going got tough as his legs are no where near as long as mine.
It certainly is a sweet bike though and once it was in the shed comment was passed on how it looks like something from a science fiction movie, a bit like something you would ride on the moon, such is the design of it.

The Leo Vince slip ons give it a great note albiet a bit loud when TB opens her up, on the trail it throws a fair roost too and looks great and certainly up for anything you throw at it.
I would like to give it a proper run on the dirt when TB has it set up a little better as far as luggage weight distribution and suspension goes.

All in all it is something I would certainly be proud to have in my shed.

I mentioned to TB that it looks like a Transformer. I bet if you get it up on it’s back wheel it could turn into a robot. Should’nt be long until TB finds out with his love for wheelies.

Did you hear he did one out of Capertee

    Tenere update

Visted Craig at Tee n Cee and had tank protectors made and fitted. Craig has made them out of a tough clear and in the day light they are hard to see but you have the piece of mind when your knees are rubbing against the tank that your paint is protcted.
