Great report Nick. Glad to see the photos dedicated to Bollocks’ big night!

Thanks to Bollocks for organising the trip, and to the great blokes that went along. Look forward to catching up again on another ride.

P.S. Had my second serving of pikelets when Nick left.

looks like a great ride. Inland northern NSW is my country,( being a farmer from Gunnedah ) familiar with a lot of the areas you rode through, sorry to have missed it, if you ever do another trip up through here I’ll have to tag along

    cheers

    The night before
TB,Nickj and Chicken rolled into my place Wednesday arvo and the poor bastards looked bloody cold
They told me stories of adventures in the highlands with sleet and extreme weather conditions around some place called “Noondock”
I offered them a hot shower to warm em up but all they wanted was a beer :cheer: ..Thats the spirit !!!
A few of the lads came around for a suasage sanger and a beer or two and the night turned out to be a piss take on poor old Bollocks :P ..just as well i am thick skinned.Side bets were laid as to how long before all my gear etc would fall off the back of Heidi and perhaps the adventure ride would consist of a ride to the far end of my drive way and back…Blah Blah Blah :P :P
It was good to see,Boony,House,Buzz and Snowy getting as exited as we were about the big trip.I think even Snowy said “aww…i wish i was comming with you  ….yes, you did…or something like it  .Bed reasonably early as Micknmeld knocked the stuffing outa them the night before

A rumble of motors heralded the arrival of the 3 amigos up my drive way
    mixedpho035.jpg
Snowy (future ADV rider),Boony..whose neck looked like it turned to Jelly, and Buzz who looks like hes..Buzzing :woohoo:
    mixedpho036.jpg
After many jovial pokes, hedi’s gear is tied up tighter than a back packer in wolf creek :P

Well thanks Bollocks for a great 3 days riding mate it was a ripper mate. Chicken and I had planned to ride to Micks to meet Nick for a ride to Tamworth before the ride officially kicked off.

    P6210001640x480.jpg

My bike at Chickens early Tuesday morning

    P6210002640x480.jpg

We got away early and had a great ride up around Barrington etc all the way to meeting Nickj at Comboyne. Once there we left for Micks, I turned the group into the tracks we used for last years poker run, yes you doubters of the adventure bike we did some of those trails. We wandered around the front of Comboyne lookout or whatever Mick calls it and tackled some challageing trails. Some of the tracks I remembered from the years of riding up there with Mick now some I didn’t but it didn’t matter cause we was GPS armed

Once we got into Wauchope and completed our motorised vehicle permits we pulled up outside Micks so I could yell for the shed keys. Once we dumped our gear in the shed we stole Micks patrol and hit the bottleshop, again I was reminded how hard it is to drive in your riding boots

Back to Micks, he was there, I told him I had done the ring around and a shed party was in order :P Well that wasn’t the smartest move I came to work out the next morning

First Nick had two new tyres to fit, the back he couldn’t get to pop the bead

    P6210003640x480.jpg

So it was down to the old side stand trick

    P6210005640x480.jpg

    P6210006640x480.jpg

Then the front was done. Nick has had 3 separate GPSs fail now so we thought maybe we would wire them straight to the battery. Chicken got in and helped and you can see Mick showing in the back ground showing how much he helps

    P6210008640x480.jpg

From then the beers and Bundys flowed (maybe to fast  ) anyways and then the pizzas turned up, by this stage I could have eaten the arse out of a rhino  So I hung up mid conversation on Boony, sorry mate I don’t remember that :P And we dug into the pizza, Nick was into double pepperoni

    P6210009640x480.jpg

The night continued until later, whenever that was and we went to bed

    Day two

It was up and a few headache tablets, cuppa and get ready. We left and went and fueled

    P6220011640x480.jpg

    P6220014640x480.jpg

Chicken filled his camelback with Wauchope water, maybe he can read

    P6220010640x480.jpg

And Nick showed true hard core adventure riders spirit and purchased a double, triple filtered spring water for his camelback :P

    P6220013640x480.jpg

From there we left and followed the little green line on the GPS I had plotted which by chance was the same as Mick has suggested in the morning while we suited up.

We stopped and rested on a bridge which we did on Micks birthday ride

    P6220017640x480.jpg

    P6220018640x480.jpg

    P6220019640x480.jpg

We eventually ended up on the top of the mountain ridge on a track we used on Micks orginal birthday bash

    P6220025640x480.jpg

    Chicken

    P6220020640x480.jpg

    P6220023640x480.jpg

    Day 1
Cold frosty start.Met up with Solesy at Maccas and the lads reckoned i had,a fair bit of Oil dripping out of Heidi  I tried to explain to them that she was just exited and had a little accident  .Charlie5,a new old bull member happened to drive past munching on a hash brown.Matt(Charlie5) said bring her down to the workshop for a bit of a check out..(he owns Bikes & Bits..and gives Old Bulls discounts..Plug Plug).Turns out someone had given her too much chain lube the night before..probably Boony or Snow..bloody terrorists :P .All good and on our way…Thanks Charlie5 ;).
Took some nice tracks to Barraba and met up with Razor at his place.Razors wife Helen cooked us all pikelettes and cuppas..God bless ya Helsy  Razor led us through some inteseting tracks and Heidi had a little lie down as i tried to get on her…all i wanted to do was find out how heavy the dirty little girl was…bloody heavy..she needs to go on a diet :P .Tb & Nickj beeped their horns in delight..bloody Galahs
Got into Narrabri at lunch time and BundyRoy came down and had a counter lunch with us..cheers mate..good feed ;)
Hooned towards Terry Hie Hie and then onto Moree to refuel.TB was getting abit worried we wouldn’t be at Mungindi before dark. She’ll be right…all running to schedual  Driving into the sun with a rutted road certainly has its moments..and my Sun glasses are still on the road somewhere  .
Razor had a great place for us to camp on the river which is the Qld border.I got a bit exited and drank 6 beers and 3/4 of a bottle of rum…what a silly thing to do.What ever happened after that is all lies i tell ya
Just after this photo Hedie fainted and took me with her..i need longer legs
    mixedpho038.jpg
Razor got x rutted and fell in the mud.He lifted his finger to let us know he was ok..we were very worried
    mixedpho039.jpg
Solesy and Nickj talk politics
    mixedpho040.jpg
we are about to ask Razor how he got his name…ask him sometime..its worth it
    mixedpho041.jpg
I think this was the start of my…Downfall
    mixedpho047.jpg
Next morning…who bombed my tent? ..oh well..some one had to feed the possums

On 2 Dirrinbandi after refuelling at Mungindi at a fuel station that looked just like a donga
Got there in no time and the landscape changed..we sure as hell were in Qld..bloody big trucks and even bigger Roos
Cubby station was exellent and went on for bloody miles.Found a bog hole and all the punters made it through and lined the edge to watch Heidi and Bol go down !!! Got through with the grace of a baby Giraffe :P …Not pretty…but a great result all the same :cheer:
Heble and back into NSW and crusied into the Ridge bang on schedual.Dodgey Dave took us on a mine tour which was awesome. Then me an Razor an Solesy went for a dip down at the Artisian hot baths…you know…just hung around with the caravan folk..all good B)
Nothin better than checking out 70 year old sheilas dripping with hot water and steam  :P  .Big feed at the pub,few beers and bed early…i think we beat big dog

    Day 3
This was gunna be a big day
Frosty start…Lighting Ridge for Gods Sake ? Waved good bye to the shifty miners wth shifty pasts..and the women who open beer bottles withtheir nostrils..
Onto a little place called Cumborah.Red roads were great riding with that soft hard compact dust made the riding tops…then gravel  ..then rocks.. …then back to soft dust again :cheer: Chicken ran over a baby goat  …but its ok…really..it is…the goats are pretty tough out that way.I nearly got flattened by a steer that bolted out and front of me and every one had a few hairy moments with Roos…them big Red bastards
Pulled up at Narran Lakes…Bloody National parks locked the get so we didn’t get a look at the lake…spewin…ah well..seen one lake…seen em all :cheer: Headed south and made it to Walgett by following the River..or “Woolgit” as Nick calls it
$4 for a bacon & egg roll Bargain !!!..and some amusing scenery to go with it :P ..she was all happening in Woolgit 😆
Time to head to the Pilliga :cheer: .Good dirt road between Cryon and “Woolgit” and i managed to drive past a few propertys that my Grandfather used to own which i had never seen before :) Had a drag race with the 2 Gay boys on there Teneres just before Pilliga.Heidi in the middle and the other two locust looking things either side of us….WE SMOKED EM :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: . After collecting my trophy we pulled up at Pilliga (on schedual) had a great feed at a nice little cafe there and got some fuel off Greg at the servo..he knew we were comming and was very exited to see us..i think we supplied him with his drinking money for the night .Pulled up at Gweggebar checked my GPS..did a sign of the cross (which seemed to un nerve a few) :P .Pilliga forrest (or scrub) is certainly different. Some of the road we went down had sapplings growing right up in the middle of them  Sand sections made it alot of fun with a few offs..Heidi fainted again and those Galahs beepeed there horns again :P We got half way and it was touch and go there for a while and we had a team vote and decided to press on :cheer:
you would not understand my relief when we popped out between Baan Baa and Bogabri..i was hoping there was a gate…and there was..and the BASTARD WAS OPEN.. HOORAY :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: .Pulled into Boggabri servo (on Schedual) said hooroo to Solesy who had to bolt.Got a few stubbies and set up camp near a bridge on the Namoi River just outa town..More beers :)

We camped near a bridge..which was on the way to a mine…bloody hell, the first truck roared over the bridge at 4.30 in the morning  .I was sound asleep and i thought it was a 747 bearing down on my tent..Then,car after car heading heading out to start there shifts at the mine followed..one after the other..some beeping there horns…Bastards..haven’t they heard of car pooling in Boggabri ? .Oh well…another frost.said goodbyes to TB and Chicken and Razor Nick and i headed off towards Manilla.Bloody visor kept fogging up and i couldn’t see shit  Left Razor and Nick at Borah crossing and headed home “Full Beans” as nick calls it :cheer: ..sooo cold…But i had a dead line.I had to be back for my daughters 1st Holy Communion. It was extremly important that i got there in time  .Skidded into the drive way..and guess what ?…RIGHT ON SCHEDUAL :cheer:

This is me and my 2 girls Willamina & Eva,about to head off to Willas 1st Holy Communion. To think that 10 minutes befrore this photo i had a 4 day growth and was covered in dust and Heidis oil..and a little bit of Vomit .But thats Adventure riding :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

    Top RR fellas

Great Australian scenery. Might be venturing that way soon cause the Simpson doesn’t look like drying out.
