Hi TB
I had jamie out on the boat today helping me remove the starter motor, I’m not much of a mechanic – he had just the right tool for the job. Anyway he told me that you are the all things cummins guru. That is very handy to know, i have twin 210’s in the boat.

They are 6BT 5.9’s. They have done less than 1000 hrs. The old man and I took 5 yrs to build in back yard, 46ft displacement cruiser – sleeps six with a sofa bed as well so 8. it’s been in the water since 95. Done a couple 9mth trips up to barrier reef, but old man is 72 now so doesn’t get whole lot of use anymore.I use a bit, but with riding, camping, sailing, diving, kids and everything else it’s hard to find the time.We do go fishing a bit though.

i think crash is coming down to my neck of the woods over christmas, so maybe he might be up for a day out. I have been thinking about taking it up to syd or pittwater, but its hard to find a cost effective place to leave it for a few months – If you know anyone who has a decent mooring or marina berth which i can rent/borrow at the right price let me know. I could certainly arrange to take some fellow old bulls for a run.

November 8, 2009 at 11:33 am #159668Its a small world,
a little off topic but my younger brother works for Cummins marine division R&D in the states . Hes a mechanical engineer and is involved in the development of new marine engines. He still has a job at the moment, many have been cut where he works and some projects put on backburner due to economic downturn.November 9, 2009 at 1:19 am #160008
AnonymousR&D and training jobs are usually the first to go in hard times
