I was just curious if anyone else was buying this mag??
It’s the only trailbike mag in the uk and I have been a subcriber for while now, it has articles from Si Melber( great dirtbike journo) , Chris Evans(uk Dakar guru ), Jonty Edmunds ( oz Transmoto photographer too) and David Knight ( fairly good on 2 wheels :dry: ).
It’s a great mag with some unbiased , comprehensive articles on not just the bikes but average joes who are into dirt bikes , not the greatest riders but love the sport and the mateship it brings.
I have just finished an article on a bunch of 18 mates who go to the welsh 2 day every year, book their own paddock to camp in , set up a spa bath, have caterers feed them 3 courses and clean up for $ 30 a head, then get a sports massage so their ready for the second day!! These blokes are all 35 plus and do it for the love , their communication is via Internet.
One guy said on the first day before the race started :
” we love it so much we’re already depressed as there are only two more days to go! For us the welsh (2 day enduro) starts at least a month ahead of the event as the emails start coming through. “oooh I’ve got these tyres ….. Have you seen this …..have you read that?”it’s all building up through emails and texts. Then it’s the event itself, having a few beers, enjoying great friendships , that’s what biking’s all about”
It really reminded me of the last few obt rides I’ve been on and it IS all about the build up as well as the ride.
I have seen this mag on the newsagents shelves in oz but it’s only an A3 size mag and hard to spot, if you see it it’s well worth a read!
