Sold my old Tenere, a guy wanted it. So the build has commenced in earnest on my new one. I have stripped the new bike. Drilled the ignition barrel mount ready for the steering damper, mounted the USB charger in the dash, got the forks and hub ready for Nick at Teknik’s to mod the hub. My Ohlin’s shock will be serviced as well. I sold my last one almost complete as I kept my shock and ordered a Yacugar shock for the old one, when I say complete I mean bags, GPS the whole shooting match. I am waiting on parts from everywhere at the minute as it all happened so quick really as I only wanted to sell it stock.

Making some changes to the forks after some development with Nick, trying a few different setup changes after some feedback recently. Will post up some more photos as it goes along

Wiring for the 2 3BR USB plugs, the 2 GPS power supplies, the LED driving lights and the spare back up power supply.

Cush hub modified by Tekniks at Penrith. The hub is machined and a Chinese twin row bearing is installed. The Chinese bearing is $15 and the last one is still going at 33,000kms. Normal cush hub bearing replacement for me was 10 to 15 thousand. For those that don’t know the standard bearing isn’t directly in line with the sprocket thus the standard bearing is always being side loaded. The twin row bearing lines up under the sprocket.

This is the 3rd B&B radiator guard I have fitted and as with the previous ones the guard need modification before final installation or damage could result during a simple crash. The problem is the lower triple clamp hits the radiator guard instead of the stop.

You need to remove the steel inserts from the rubber radiator mounts because when the old guard is removed the inserts when reinstalled prevent the rubber mounts from having any crush thus allowing the radiator to flog around. Once the insert is removed file/grind about 4mm from the sleeve so the head can allow some crush on the rubber radiator mounts

Once modified the triple clamp has clearance both sides as seem below
