July 30, 2009 at 7:27 am #140397Ok,
What can I say but :woohoo: !!!!The TCX PRO2`s are the Ducks Guts of boots, as previously explained by TB
Fit & comfort are first class, the inner booties keep the foot snug in the boot & have extra padded gel ankle protection. Not 100% waterproof, but on the Nundle ride with the many water crossings & mud puddles, the old feet were only slightly damp over the 2 days:) Not from lack of trying to get them wet, as I found myself standing in the creek on a couple of occasions when the front was bumped off line by the many loose boulders on the bottom:laugh:
Also had to wade halfway up to the knees on Sunday to help rescue Bollocks from a sloppy, goopy hole when SuperUnit just couldn`t get a decent grip or enough force to drag the Big Banana out  Not an ounce of the thick goop penetrated into the boots , so all good on that front (only the White colour suffered a culture shock) A bit of warm water soon cleared that when I got home:)The pivoting ankle area gives excellent movement to access the controls & move about on the bike!!!
I say, grab a pair if ya have a chance too;)
July 30, 2009 at 8:20 am #145863Glad you liked them Beagle, would have been the best ever if Boony recommended them but

AnonymousThey certainly do look like good boots. One day I might not be such a tight arse and buy a pair of decent boots, ones that last longer than a few rides.
September 29, 2010 at 11:46 am #145876Bargain !! :woohoo: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/OXTAR-TCX-PRO-MX-BOOTS-RED-41-/160461075460?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item255c39b404

Be great to get a re-review on them please

Still going great guns Burkey ….They are still comfy as the day I got them
Sure, I don`t ride as much as the next guy on here, but I have worn them on some good weekend rides and have no probs wearing them around all day.
I did lose a buckle in a getoff last year, but got a couple of replacements easily through Suttos.
My soles are still in good knick, chewed up a tad on the edges from the pegs on the 690, but I can easily see another 12 months in them for my riding 😆I regularly wash them with truckwash after dirty tides and the leather is still pretty supple.
I also lube the pivots points in the ankle area with silicone spray to stop squeaking .Would I but another pair ????
SHIT YEAH
March 17, 2012 at 6:09 pm #218304Mine are about 18 months old and they are rooted.
Both steel toe caps are gone, one sole is hanging half off, lost a buckle, buckles never clasped closed properly from new, inner booties are had it.
They are comfy and the leather and plastic seem to be pretty good, I got them cheap online but I won’t be buying another pair.
March 17, 2012 at 6:25 pm #218306My experience is
I have had two pairs and couldn’t fault either. Neither was treated well, truck wash and a high pressure clean at best. The first pair (2006 to 2009 by me included a lot of racing 4 day etc) was then used by a mate for a while and then I got them back and they have been passed onto Chris the pommy back packer.
The second pair looked like they would be as good but were stolen  without the booties do they were no good to the scum.
I now wear Gaerne SG10s (last 2.2 years but they are starting to leak, I wear them adv riding and other so they have done a heap of miles, read lots) and rate them, I only bought them because I couldn’t get the TCXs straight away when I needed them. I will get Gaernes next either 10s or 12s or maybe Sidi crossfires because I can get a better deal then non stocked TCXs
I find pivot pegs reduce the damage to the soles and my boots last heaps longer

March 17, 2012 at 7:48 pm #218308I have been looking at getting a new set of boots as my Gaerne sg10’s are now 2 years old and buggered, the steel caps are gone , the stitching between the plastic front and leather has gone and the soles are almost worn through. To be fair they have done 23,000km of adventure riding and over 5000km of single track riding. All I do is hit them with the pressue washer and truck wash then silicone spray them.
I am happy with the Gaernes but I’ve been looking at the TCXs , the Sidi crossfires and the Tech 8s too just to see what’s available.
I will be doing a similar amount of riding over the next 2 years and would like the same wear if not more , does anyone think the TCX could do the same as the Gaernes ?

March 17, 2012 at 9:27 pm #140399Another factor in the condition of the boots may be the fact that I wear overboot pants too
Only the bottom bit is exposed to the dirt & crap, also some impact protection for the buckles etcMarch 17, 2012 at 10:06 pm #218322EAGLE`02 wrote:Another factor in the condition of the boots may be the fact that I wear overboot pants too

I have owned and worn both for two years, I reckon there would be nothing between them. That said I will be buying Gaernes I reckon they maybe just a bit better IMO
