Quote:Why would you worry Chris? You current bike isn’t made in Australai and you can get parts for it can’t you?You should also remember that 85% of the Berg is made up from KTM parts. Just go to a deal;er and have a look for yourself
But theres a lot more yamahas around than bergs, what about the aftermarket market, I don’t think there would be as much available but I could be wrong I usually am.
Cheers
P.S when are you back.

AnonymousWhat aftermarket stuff do you need?
I don’t think there will be any harder parts to get than KTM are now. My fuel tank did take 3 weeks to be delivered from Austria but it’s not often you break a fuel tank!
You don’t need jet’s or any kind of stuff like that, just a lappy and the software to modify performance. They have an exhaust available if you really need one
I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just saying you’re not right

Yeah your right Moto, jets are all a Motobike uses, cause they wear our jets and you have to service the jets and when you crash the jest get smashed   (maybe jets not the best example buddy)
I am not saying Chris is right but any sort of spares could be required, a spring on the exhaust to a radiator bracket snapped in fall, but having said that and had a look at Sutto’s stock as a berg dealer spares wont be an issue, you will always on any brand get the odd part that isnt in stock. I would have thought that a fuel tank would be in Australia when you needed it Moto but they may only keep two in stock in KTM headquaters and those two for whatever fluky reason been used before a stock order is replenished (happens at our work all the time
)
Buy away I say

Like all bikes, it depends on what you want to do with it but it definately fulfuls my needs. Before the TE I had a WR 426 and I don’t miss the horse power or the weight. It’s a billy goat on the hills and just so much fun to ride.
What sort of riding do you do??

I didn’t ride the TE 250 but I did ride the WR and the KTM. The difference for me was I didn’t have to ride it like a 2T all the time. It’s not a 450 4T but it’s got enough low to mid torque and then you can play with the clutch and ride it a bit like a 2T.
August 1, 2009 at 1:44 am #145612I have the 610, would Love a 310 for some of the tighter stuff here. However, the 610 goes there now, just a bit slower is all. Still, the 310 is something of a winner, cause most others are now following suite and producing the ” In between” bikes.
August 5, 2009 at 12:53 pm #146417If the Jap brands made a 300cc registerable 4T I reckon they’d sell like hotcakes in NSW. I had lots of choices when I recently went looking at a new old bike, but in the end I couldn’t justify the extra annual cost of rego for a 400/450/510 over a 300 given the coupla hundred klicks it will travel per year.
August 5, 2009 at 1:05 pm #145613so true Beatle!
why i’v been looking into the klx with the 351 kit! but none of the old bulls have one to get any feed back on.
i like the idea of the ktm 250-350 but just too dear.
i would love to get the base gaskets for the husky 310, 450, klx 250, 450. crf 250,450 etc. etc.
some sums i’ve done if you put the klx 450 top end on the 250/300 you could get 345something cc’s.
the husky 310 with 450 could be 409ish cc’s.
but that’s as far as i’ve got.
