April 13, 2012 at 10:33 pm #219343Well my rr is late but its here.
I would like to start with saying that at no stage did any bike that i was riding stop running, therefore i did not break any bikes at all, i just chose not to ride any further on them.
I started off with a ride from home to TB’s via some great back roads, a beer at St Albans and a pants pooing moment at the end of Wheelborrow ridge where it meets the putty  :pinch: but it was still a great ride and it set the theme to what was going to be a great trip, i got to TB’s and Mick and Kram were already there.
The riding was fun and we covered some great country, i mean, some of these roads are up there with the best and we hardly use them because we are usually in a hurry, Then again you could always get an ADV bike and make it some of the best riding you will ever do. :woohoo:
The piglet enjoyed the back roads so much that it was time to slow right down, only problem was, it was a time we needed to go fast and the piglet just wasnt interested, i was not having fun at all as i could only think of how i was holding everyone up, i said to Steve that i would split and meet everyone at Gunning but he suggested i take the WR and put the piglet on the trailer……………ummm……………..OK :cheer: :cheer:
Steve your a champ.Be carefull how you ask for a pair of thongs in Gunning
TB had a look at the piglet for me and we managed to get a bit more speed out of it so it was off the wr and back on the piglet, it wasnt 100% but as we had a heap more bikes join us the pace droped and the piglet and I got stuck in :woohoo: riding the Piglet fast ( yes i know that sounds wierd ) is a full time job, sure up hill is not so good but down hill on a windy dirt road is fun and possibly the craziest thing i have done in a long time  but honestly 80 k/h on a bike that doesnt want to stop or turn will have your eyes wide open and your brain ready to fire signals at any split second, i mean this would have had Danielsan more focused than that wax on wax off crap that Mr Miyagi had him do  you ride with the constant fear that a hill will be around the next corner so you need to keep as much speed as you can, all i could do was keep it pinned
The run down into Tumit was a beaut and i was chasing two cousins, one was on a ttr 250 and the other was on a postie, both top blokes and they were having some real fun and hooking in, it was a tar section and a good one but i could not catch them, they loosened up a few more screws and let loose, i caught up with them later and they still had smiles from ear to ear :laugh:We did so many top roads and TB and Steve did an amazind job putting this route together, there were spots were you looked back and you could see a weaving dirt road and dust flying out the back of bikes that were scattered for miles
it would have been a great photo if i stopped and took one
On the way to Talbingo the piglet was getting tired and when we left Tumit i was right behind TB but as the hills hit and i slowly droped from first to last in a large field of bikeson some large, long down hills sections, i tucked in to my moto gp position and let it rip 😆 at 95 the Piglet made some strange noises and began to vibrate agresively    at this stage only two things could happen, the Piglet being between my legs would explode into a million pieces or we would slip back in time like a two wheeled Delorean that had its flux cipacitor turned up to eleven
Once at Talbingo we pulled in to a servo that had a mechanics shop attached and TB had new exhaust fitted to the super ten.
We hit the dirt again and rode the power line trails from the power station, again this was time for some more fun on the Piglet and on the occasion i tussled with TB for the lead, the Piglet was full noise and it was only that TB hit second gear and he stopped laughing that he was able to pull away :laugh:The last corner was apon us and as always it was Mick and i that got it, we watched all the bikes come through until our trusty Old Bull sweeps Boulder and Kram came along and we started together so we finished together
……………………………………..well finished first half of our trip.
More to come.
PTW
and i may have broken one or two spokes……………………………but the Piglet rode into Macphersons retreat under its own steam :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

April 14, 2012 at 12:20 am #219677Yeah I did crack it! Not one of my better moments.
It all started when I realised it was 1.30 pm and I had ASSURED my wife I would be home at 2pm NO LATER. And I was still 100km’s south west of Newcastle. :S  4hrs minimum, ride still to go!!
Then, I took off, with my sunglasses ($265 pair from the optometrists) still on the back of my bike. They fell off and were promptly run over by a VW transporter. That was the catalyst for me cracking the shits,. Which turns out to be a good thing, as I slabbed it from there and still arrived home after dark. Half an hour before we were due at a restaurant 20kms from here in Port Macquarie.
