I’m about to try a techno mousse in my front end as of tomorrow. They look different to the other mousses from Michelin and Pirelli as they are grey. Colour aside it looks smoother and doesn’t have the cracking that the Michelins had.
It also has a extended inner piece to help sit in over the recess in your rim where the spokes sit. It looks to be a quality bit of kit from Europe.
The guy selling has been very helpful and it was delivered the same day I ordered it! Only because he has a property at Jiliby.
They are competitively price priced too and stocked in Aus. You find out more details at http://www.4enduro.com/
Downside is that they don’t do a 90/100×21 front

PS: I have no affiliation with this guy, just sharing a good looking product at a good price.
September 14, 2012 at 5:30 am #229419How long do these tube last?
September 14, 2012 at 5:41 am #229427If properly lubed at each tyre change quite a while. They do get soft in feel, at which point you can cut another section and add it in to help firm up the feel again.
The real value however is that they provide better grip and better rim protection when hitting square edge stuff at speed (air just compresses out the way on the other side of the tube) and you can’t possibly get a flat.
I never had a flat, ever, using UHD tubes but I still rate using mousses.

Did you run a rim lock on your rear that let go?
Was it the mousse or the tyre that failed?

Yep had rim lock, moose was wasted which caused the tyre to brake it’s bead

Damn, what event / ride was this on KTM?
November 23, 2012 at 8:46 am #232813Did 1 trail ride to get the feel of them, then used it for 3 days on the Tasmania ride, then the cross country at Clearview, then on Sunday at the clear view grass track, it gave way. New tyre and lube for each ride
November 23, 2012 at 10:13 pm #232822I run a mousse in the front. No dramas
have run one one the rear but generally they don’t like high speed running as the heat makes them basically melt.
I think you could run one in the rear doing single trails where the tyre temperature does not rise much.
I did use one on the rear at Yellow mountain but it was drizzling on and off.November 27, 2012 at 7:50 am #229422Every time i think of using these things , i see or here of a failure
From what I can gather you must have to throw them away earlier than most people do
They can’t be that economical if you throw them away too often
I’ve seen a couple pulled off on the trail ……………all that lube and grease and crap thats bullshit, thats a shed job
How many tyres per mousse do you reckon ,
I suppose your guaranteed not to have a flat……………until you have a catastrohic @#$%up
…………..which is better?????Was the 3 days in tassie faster riding , higher tyre temps
The pace you were going past me at clearview i reckon the tyre temp was on the rise …….
You can buy 3 or 4 tubes for that price
I have never ridden on one but contemplated them a couple of times
November 27, 2012 at 8:59 am #232913Day 1 – 28Km/h
Day 2 – 21Km/h
Day 3 – 22Km/hClearview Cross Country – 54Km/h
The Michelin Mousses normally last 12 months
