Crikey he makes the brp look like an XR80, what is he 6’6″?
This sounds like the best thing since linkages( put that in just for you pds lads) to me, what a great idea as the regional areas have basically no experts in suspensio, being the black art it is.
WTG Moose, TB, Mick all the other OBT attendees and of course the crew from Tekniks.

The biggest thing that I noticed was the lack of maintained linkages, air boxes (not just Micks, so I’m not picking on you Mick) and steering head bearings in low mileage bikes. It has made me rethink my own maintenance practices because the best suspension in the world wont give you the full benefit with those things seized, binding or not working correctly
Also there is talk of an old bull / Tekinks weekend further up the coast so stay tuned Mr Blue

Hmmm, it seems my linkage maintenance could have been better
Just order a new set to go with my new suspension :woohoo:
Only 26 days to Nundle :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ok well I might hold off getting the new valving done in the shock then, might even get them to give the forks a service by then too.
August 16, 2010 at 9:20 am #186032Woooohooo….that is what I yelled out at one stage, going up a tricky hill this arvo. Did a quick 40kms in Bago to give the new suspension a test.I was deliberatly hitting things, like rutts, pot holes and roots to give it a test and it came up trumps!! :woohoo:
I had a funny thing happen while i was in the bush this arvo… I was a long way from anywhere and came around a corner, only to nearly run over a huge big black rooster in really good condition!! He ran off into he lantana in a shower of feathers. Really random
August 16, 2010 at 10:46 am #186049Was just talking to Mick, was great listening to him say how he was hitting things he wouldnt normally hit at speeds he doesnt normally ride and was doing it easy by the sounds. He made an adjustment to the rebound in the forks to improve it.
Good on you Mick, jealous you were out there this arvo mate in gods country

August 16, 2010 at 11:48 pm #186056Just got off the phone with Brad. It appears he hasn’t finished with me yet.He has big plans for me and my XR, plans that will most likely cause me to get divorced
Thanks Brad I appreciate the call, lets hope we see you and your XR back up here in a fortnight to give your BRP a run in the Bago Forest.
Did I mention anywhere that I am stoked with the way my bike doesn’t handle like a rodeo bull now.. :woohoo:
August 17, 2010 at 9:51 am #186050I did the same thing on Sunday on the drz400 after getting new springs and valves etc.
Where previously I would be very cautious and tentative eg steep rocky downhill, I can just point the bike and it will go there…….and at more speed. Seems to be more stable with a bit extra speed. Went out for 45minutes and was pushing it more than usual and it was fantastic. Cant wait to go for another ride.
I dont understand why the manufacturers especially Suzuki and the drz dont fit better suspension in the factory because the origonal setup is crap.. micknmeld wrote:

You got the two for deal. That was about $250 wasn’t it?
STM
August 17, 2010 at 10:57 am #186120As TB told us it is a safety mod. The fact that it allows you to ride at twice the speed you did previously should not be taken in to account though
STM
August 17, 2010 at 10:59 am #186121You knunkle heads  . The answer to Gotowo’s question was Suzuki dont do decent because of cost (other manufacturers included except Honda
) Its not about Tekinks or costs on the weekend
Tekniks did everything free I thought
Factory racer style
