STM and I are going to test ride the new suspension tomorrow afternoon, I think I have worked out a good 1 hour loop that will put all of Tekniks work through it’s paces and have us home for dinner

TB
The cost for them would be bugger all.
Their cost is the differece between the garbage they are installing now and a decent setup.
We are forced to pay for the garbage and the good gear.
Cost to them would be 5% what we have to pay.
Maybe thats a fair chunk of their profit…….. I dont know. But what you said TB is a good point……..More than anything it is a safety issue. I recon I’d have half the scratches I got now if I’d done the suspension it when it was new.

August 17, 2010 at 11:53 am #186126You also have to remember that there are different setups required for different peoples weights and riding style/types. There is no perfect setup for all people so they just go medium asian size rider I reckon

In a DR’s case how many get the suspension done up for the rider correctly you reckon out of every 10 I reckon maybe 2. And then like Jeffro said pick a weight, maybe you could order one wouldnt be cheap  Its life get Tekniks to do it worth the cost and effort

August 18, 2010 at 9:13 am #186128I just got home from a loop of Nickj’s finest. My bike needed no further adjustments but Nick felt his rebound may be a bit slow so we gave ot two clicks softer on rebound compression and it made all the difference. It was good to get the bike out in familar terrain and give it a go run.
I am despearte to run it around my local loops but I am in Melbourne for work this weekend so I will have to wait a while yet. Based on todays run though it will be worth the wait.
:woohoo:Brad from Tekniks has spoken to me since the work was done to follow up and make sure that everything is right. Amazing service!

August 18, 2010 at 9:24 am #186129Well STM and I went for our ride today to try out Tekniks handy work, we rode a mix of sand, hard pack, rocks n roots and some loamy single track.
From the beginning I felt very comfortable with the new set up and we kept a good pace, as confidence increased I started to notice the front packing on hard packed fast cornering.
We stopped and discussed how to fix the problem and with 2 clicks softer on the rebound the next section was perfect.
I started to notice that the faster I went into the corners I was being sling shot out of the exit point , before the suspension was upgraded the rear wheel would lose contact with the ground when cornering but now the wheel stays planted and therefore I have maximum traction the whole corner therefore much more speed :woohoo: :woohoo:
To top it all I got a follow up call from Brad to see if I’d stopped smiling yet after the test ride and he confirmed that the rebound adjustment we made was correct and is happy to give future advice whenever needed. This is the type of after sales service that is very rare and will mean I’m a return customer for sure.
All in all this is by far the best money I have spent on the DRZ and I am well happy!!
