G’Day everyone… TB has been giving me a hard time for not paying enough attention to my new digs here at Old Bulls. It has been great meeting a few of you and doing some business, if business is helping some of you ADV riders get your gear sorted.

I have been busy, with a two week trip over to the US of A and then the Yamaha/Trailzone Tenere Tragics Ride to the Rocks. I had the bloody flu when it kicked off so hitched a lift with Pete who drove the Adventure Moto back up 4×4 an trailer, to Broken Hill anyways and then joined the ride from there.

Unfortunately we could not get up to Camerons Corner (well we could get out to the Corner but the roads were closed from the Corner to Arkaroola) but that didn’t stop Hartley and Philth (motorbikin) ,aking the trip out on closed roads. The rest of us rode down to Yunta and then up to Hawker for the night. The next day we split up and rode to Arkaroola.

Big Pete almost went to God when he went side ways then up and over an embankment. he still shakes his head and wonders why the truck didn’t roll but he certainly f@cked the trailer which we spent most of Sunday hammering back into shape. It vibrated like my wifes silver bullet all the way home to Sydney as soon as it hit the blacktop.

Here are a few picks of the ride. The Super Shitter is a very civilized beast and thank God for the new Altrider 4.5mm bash plate which put the Yamaha tin foil plate to shame. THREE :S S10’s had crank case damage after the rock garden out of Arkaroola threw up on them. Anyway the pics…

The last couple of pics were just outside Chambers Gorge where we followed a dry river bed up 10kms just to see what was up there. The big bike handled the loose stuff pretty well.

The mighty Triton chased us all over the country with Big Pete on the Gas and realizing all to late that a 3 tonne ute does not handle as well as an XT660Z and an XT1200Z…

Arkaroola is a beautiful place and I will head back there for a bit more discovery. The Station manager encourages us ADV Riders to head out and explore. After we fixed the Ute and Trailer though we did have to go and rescue on of the truly tragics after he broke his ankle…

Harley and Me… Harley was the oldest tragic on the ride at 65yo. The oldest bikes were classic 83 Tenere’s.

We gave away a shit load of prizes and some ‘Adventuremite’ and Moto Cement (HTFU) T-Shirts…

Luke was the youngest Tragic at 16yo and n his “L” plates, riding with the Coffs Harbor boys including his dad Dave…

There was around fifty Tenere Riders and a few dealers and one ring in KTM rider who couldn’t keep from telling anyone who he thought was listening “… You guys are all on the wrong bike” 👿 But the dinner was great and Clubby from Trailzone was a fantastic MC…

The Sunday I rode alone down to Arkaroola and gave the S10 the berries. I like the bike and fel I could easily do some big kays on her. My reckoning is she sits somewhere betwen a KTM 990 and an R1200GSA as far as feel and handling. The bike certainly needs protection like a big strong ALTRIDER bash plate and crash bars. The ROTOPAX fuel cells mounted on the new Moto Racks and rear rack give the bike an extra 11.6 Litres of fuel and an easy 500 km range.

Nice work Steve ;) will make a point of attending next years as you know it couldn’t be this year. So what happened with the car and trailer did he lose it ?

Love he cement shirts, will have to get some of those for gives aways at our birthday ride weekend at Sofala on the 28th and.29th of may

Also good to see you stayed rubber down all trip, must handle better then a GS or your upside down BMW :P The big Tenere looks BIG shouldn’t have any drama selling you bash plates after those three had their cases smashed  That would be heart breaking if you owned one as they couldn’t be that old :( but I guess that’s riding and as chicken says all the flaming time “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail”

Yeah I stopped in looking for some quick relief as I was told the girls were working out the back under canvas… The best little whorehouse in Yunta!
