October 28, 2011 at 8:06 pm #211067Thanks for sharing your install TT , it looks great and I’m sure your bike will be glad to shed the ridiculous weight of the standard pipe.
One thing worth looking at under the seat. Once the standard pipe is removed and the new bracket fitted I noticed , with the Leo pipe anyway , that their is now a bit of a gap that allowed dirt to get up under the seat and also a fair bit of dust from the back wheel. To solve this I cut a rubber car mat up to fit over the whole area and then used the bracket bolts to hold it in place. Then I used silicone to totally seal it.
This may not be the case with the Barrett pipe but I think it wouldEnjoy your new pipe mate , great reason to go for a blast now !!! :woohoo:
October 28, 2011 at 10:07 pm #211068Thanks for the tip Nickj, I will do the same in short order
The pipes sound fantastic BTW

November 4, 2011 at 8:03 pm #211072Folks,
this is a little sound file from the Barrett (it has a lot more bass than my camera captured). Appologies for the shaky video but I never claimed to be a camera man 😆

He does a great job, locally made and super tough
I have the Barrett on my 690 and it too gets some comments on the sound it produces :woohoo:
Good installation pics too TT ,,, Did you do a weight comparison ???? It would be a massive reduction
Thanx
November 4, 2011 at 8:56 pm #211254Sounds sweet , looks great !! What more could you want
Did you happen to weigh the new Barrett pipe ? I bet theirs a big difference to the standard 7 kg beast !!
November 4, 2011 at 10:02 pm #211255Bloody nice work TT sounds nice. We will have to hook up for a local ride sooner rather than later
Nice tip with the rubber Nick

November 4, 2011 at 10:48 pm #211259Thanks gents, I am very happy with the pipes. I did not get to weigh them but for weight conscious folks, I would go with the single Barrett can as it will weigh only 50% of the dual setup
I am still waiting for my DNA kit to arrive in the mail and then I think it is Tenere mission complete 😆
And yes, TB, we really have to go for a ride soon and crack a couple of cold ones afterwards!
Cheers, TT
