The tent I have been using on adventure rides is the Blackwolf Dragonfly , its a copy of the MSR Hubba Bubba, the only difference is the price , the Blackwolf is $289 and the MSR is over $750.
It weighs under 3kg and takes only 5 minutes to put up. it is totally waterproof and has an entry to put your bike gear out of the weather too.

Below are a few pictures of the tent, its very light and compact with the poles all joined together to make it easy to put up. It has a bucket floor which means no pegs are needed and its ideal for camping on sand ;)

    I would give this tent a 10 out of 10 ,

Tent I use is the Macpac micro light, 1.4 kgs and a small package. Waterproof an tough.
In the warmer temps I prefer a Bivvy bag and tarp with a mosquito net. Steve

The last post was a bit old, but ill post my thoughts anyway…

After many years of tent trials & error, ive come up with two options that work best for me & my needs.

First one is a trap. Plane & simple, with some guy ropes, some pegs and at least a 3x4m, SeaToSummit make a really nice 3×3 with integrated guy ropes & little pockets to store them in.

Pros – Tarps are small, light, pack into any spot you have available, can be multi use eg lunch shelter from sun & can be set up in situation in any location provided you have Tapology 101 under your belt.

Cons – not good against insects (unless you set up a fly netting as well) & only offers moderate wet weather protection

All i all, a tarp is really hand to have, its a light cheap multi use item to have.

My number one go to tent is a thing produced by Black Dimond ‘The Mega Mid’ (see photos, note these are not my photos)

Its fast, light, great weather protection, multiple set up options, sleeps 4 comfortable or two with gear very comfortably.

It is a 3-4 season floor less tent that can be pithed anywhere & over anything. It has the ability to pitched with its centre pole or with a rope slung over a tree branch. it has amazing floor space to weight ratio & only takes two minuts to set up.

Although it is a floor less tent & there is a gap between the tent & ground, ive never had a troubling amount of water either splash of run inside the tent. BD sells add ons to the tent such as a bathtub floor & bath tub floor with fly.

One of my favorite things to do is take a tarp & create a patio out the front door with it.

Like i said, its my #1 go to tent, i absolutely love this little thing, there is very little that can go wrong with this sucka.

One thing is that BD produce a Mega Mid & Mega Light version. The Mega Light is made of a light weight silnylon that most light weight minimal tents are made of, but im my experience the fabric stretches when wet & becomes floppy/droopy.

    Specs

    Season : 4
    Capacity : 4
    Doors : 1
    Minimum Weight : 1.05 kg
Average Packed Weight : 1.27 kg
    Dimensions : 218 x 218 x 145 cm
    Outside Height : 170 cm
    Usable Height : 145 cm
Usable Floor Space : 4.7 m²
    Total Coverage : 7.2 m²
    Packed Size : 13 x 25 cm

    Thats my Tent, from Sharpie…

Sorry about the late reply. Better late than never.
Swag is great. Used it a few times now so feel pretty qualified to it’s in and outs. It seems to me to be really a full size swag with a smaller mattress in it. It is waterproof and seals up very well if the weather turns nasty. Like all canvas swags however it’s as noisy as a tin roof when it’s rained on.
I have pulled out the mattress that comes with it as it’s pretty thin as well and replaced it with an anaconda self inflator.

It is however quite heavy when ready to go. This includes black wolf blow up pillow, Anaconda mat, sleeping bag and cotton liner. All up about 7kgs give or take.

I also have a mantis 1 tent which i might start using again as it’s a fair bit lighter.

Purchased a Darche Cumulus lw 2 man tent and tested last weekend. :) Has 5000mm floor and 4000mm fly water rating so should keep out the wet stuff. Small vestible and enough room inside for 1 person and helmet, jacket and sleeeping gear. So far so good. 5 minute setup and packs away to 2 stubbies long 😆

I have upgraded from the $30 Big W tent to this,
    Outer Limits Backpacker Hiking Tent.
Normally around the $170 mark, but I found one on Ebay for under $90 delivered ;)

    https://www.snowys.com.au/Hiking/Hiking-Tents/Outer-Limits-Backpacker-Tent.aspx?c=10&sc=74&id=157

The outer fly is made from 68 denier ripstop polyester with a 3000mm hydrostatic waterhead with added water repellent treatment providing greater defence against rain & wind.
Front vestibule for extra storage space.
Leave the fly at homeand you have a lightweight mozzie dome shelter.
Lightweight puncture-resistant polyester taffeta floor with a 5000mm water head and polyurethane coating for extra durability and strength.
    Ultra fine 50 x 50 polyester and No-See-Um mesh.
Reinforced guy rope and peg points for better stability and longer life.
Duralumin 7001 gold alloy poles with T-6 temper and 7075 tensile strength providing increased strength for less weight.
Promesh pole sleeves and quick clip pole attachments for faster assembly and better stability.
Weatherproof DryGuard plus double flaps to protect zips from driving rain.
Large single D door opens wide for easy access. The low door opening make access and cleaning easier.
Compact, lightweight and weatherproof dry-sack style carry-bag.
3 Season tent: Australian Spring, Summer and Autumn use in a protected site excluding alpine snow conditions.

    Specifications:

    Size: 230cm long x 160cm wide x 105cm high
    Weight: 2.20 kg
Packed size: 40cm long x 16cm in diameter
    Sleeps: 2
