A big thank to Rocks MC last night
They put on the new BMW launch last night of the GS 1200, which is a great bike for ADV riding. It comes with every thing you need to make your riding experience the best you will have.
As a bonus they had Simon and Lisa from 2 Ride the World.
They are a married couple who sold everything to road around the world on there motor bikes, and a 11 years later they are still going.
There story is one that will inspirer anyone who has thrown a leg over a motor bike, I was spell bound wacthing there video and listeing to them about there amazing trip.
You could just sit there and listen all night, and they were so open with all there experience’s good and bad.
I wish them well with the rest of there journey.
To Rory and Peter Rock and family, you did a great job puting this on with food and drinks, it was a great night out.
Thanks to TB and Amy for introducing me to Siomon and Lisa, and for your company for the night.
Cheers

March 10, 2013 at 9:48 am #237957I will second the vote about how good Simon and Lisa’s talk was and shindig Rocks MC put on last night. If anybody has ever thought that it would be good to go away riding for a few years, then this couple can tell you how to do it. They are the ultimate adventure riding team.
Thanks again Rory, Peter and the family (it was clearly a family event).
Strucky, thanks for place to stay last night and the great breakfast this morning, it was wonderful to meet your family. My stomach muscles are sore today…….not sure from all the laughing or the bike ride yesterday.

March 10, 2013 at 10:14 am #237976Yeah was a cracker of an evening after a great day. Having met Simon and Lisa before with Amy I thought I knew what to expect but it blew my mind and has inspired my Russian trip no end
What they have lived is beyond words I could type here, the photos, the people incredible, incredible, incredible. The pizza afterwards was good as well, a few rums, good friends and laughs.
Thanks as always Strucky you are the man. How good was the breakfast
BTW thats not my breakfast, mine was the same so dont worry about the hand and bracelet jokesSorry about the tag along I dragged in with me gees

Gavb and I went to a similar shindig a week ago at Brisans M/C in Newcastle where Simon and Lisa did a similar presentation.
It was a fantastic evening listening to them and seeing a miniscule part of their Adventures.
Its hard to condense 11 years of adventure into a 3 hour presentation.Cheers
MickpMarch 11, 2013 at 10:25 am #237959Thanks,
The night was a huge success, over 100 people crammed into our shop was good to see. Especially good to see a few obt members made the effort to come along.March 11, 2013 at 10:31 am #238022Probably would have been a few more of OBT crew there if we hadn’t had a big ride on that day.

Someone had to stay back and make sure the crew behaved at the farmstay! Maybe I wasn’t the best person for that job!
