And Crash was a nano second off hooking your van up to the big girl with the snatch strap before you guys turned around. We had to hold him back. [/quote]

We saw Ghostrider with the strap at the ready, the clay out there is slippery.

The afternoon ride was a lot of fun, shame about the rain.

No more big hills Ghostrider ;) well only a couple

We need to do another group ride at the afternoon pace, maybe Clarence?

Tom, shit he hit the ground hard  had a front row seat for that one, for a change it wasn’t me or badbowie

Great weekend (well Saturday anyway – can’t stop the weather.

Great to meet you all and put a face to the user names and to meet TB (good effort, even though your didnt come out with us).
Thanks to Mal and the others for your organisation and the rest of the guys for getting me out of trouble when either my skills (or lack of) and the TTR clutch let me down.

Also a Big Thanks to SUTTOS for supporting OLD BULLS, the tool kit I won will realy come in handy. I need something else to fit into my backpack, thats acualy useful. :P

As others have said the ride in the morning was with all riders in one group and the rides in the afternoon was generaly split along riding skills lines.

One group stayed on the fire trails. Interest was added when the rain turned to hail, at one moment I thought I was going to need a new helmet. But we stopped under a pine tree. Didnt realy stop the hail. But we went on. I thought it was a great ride. leaders were changed and we tried to avoid getting lost but we turned up in camp right on que, just befor someone froze to death.
When we got back we got to cooking dinner. I was amazed when the die hartds went out again. What class!

I got the real measure around the fire though. Talk about talking shit, then I dont think I added anything or any substance to the conversations.

When I finaly got up this morning everyone was leaving. I though I must have said something inappropriate. But then i looked at the weather  and blamed that.

Thanks again. Good to meet you all and Ill be pleased to see you all again.

    Rgds
Gary01 the Scud (you dont know where Ill land but you just know I going to cause a lot of damage)

Thanks to all for a great weekend. Mal for leading us around and Crash for his sweeping. Also thanks to Ghostrider for the extra hand picking me up on the single trail just before lunch (he was unlucky enough to be behind me). I rode the same trail the day before without a single off but for some reason on Saturday I couldn’t find my rhythm and was down as often as a brides nickers on wedding night. :P

Sam was dissapointed he missed the arvo singles loop, a good lesson on getting on with the job and not stuffing around as young fellas tend to do.

The storm on Saturday provided a heavy downpour which didn’t worry us too much however the hail tended to sting a bit  At least it helped to blast some of the mud off.

Now just waiting for the rain to stop at home so I can set the gear up again to dry it all out. Oh the joys of camping in the rain. :S

See you all on the next one. :)

    Adam.

PS will see if Merv got any decent footage on his camera and upload it when we work out how.

    A dudes view B)

Arrived Friday :) – had a ride with Mal 5.1, White Rocket and Captain Furious.
Rode a good loop with some challenges. ;)

Saturday :) – More old bulls arrived and 13 of us set out to do the same loop as Friday.
It was all good as the ground was damp and no dust to talk about. :cheer:
The pace was calm and some of the bulls needed a hand here and there as we all do at some time.
Yammyman took a tumble  but came good and rode some more.

After lunch 9 of us went on another loop and the pace picked up somewhat. :P
Hills became steeper, rain was falling, and it was like a skate park crossing big flat slippery rocks. 😆
It was really good fun and I was pushed to my limits of skills and endurance. ;)

Looks like the KTM boys were the hill climb kings of the day. ;) Well done White rocket and Tryhard.

Many thanks to Mal 5.1 and Sb_250y for leading and King Crash for sweeping. :cheer:

It was good to meet Old bulls that I had never met before and put faces to names. ;)

    Great weekend had fun.

TTR250, Merv having a moment as were other old bulls but Merv was kind enough to lay down in front of the cam for our entertainment.

Will make a DVD so if you were on the ride PM me and I will get a copy to you.
Morning vids worked but no arvo vids, seems the vid camera eats 2 sets of batteries before lunch.

    Bonus vid

Great to meet everyone at the Old Bulls Christmas Party :)
It helped to put faces to names as this was my first ride with OBTs
The Spud and I arrived Saturday about 11 and as the camp was empty we decided to throw up the tent :)
Bob arrived and as we had nothing better to do we went off for a ride along the fire trails and some of the single tracks around the area :woohoo:
We arrived back around the same time as the other group and after some lunch and a bit of fuel we headed off with the guys doing the fire trails :)
I drew the short straw and lead the ride, as i hadn’t been to Sunny Corner before and neither had anyone else it was a strong case of the blind leading the blind
The rain was starting to hurt  until i realised it was hail  stopping under the trees only changed the direction of the hail from horizontal to vertical
The trails were great and the corner man system was functioning well.
I thought that Sam may have some small mental issues when he pulled up next to me talking to himself in his helmet
All was cleared up when i realised the Adam, Merv and Sam had helmet radios :)
It was about this time that Merv decided to show everyone that he had a great pair of shackles 😆 (the things you find on a ride)
The rest of the ride was about as good as it gets :) a near miss with the native fauna nearly saw me wearing a skippy body suit but that,s all part of the fun.
At the end of the ride Gary01 did a sterling job of getting us back to camp surprising everyone including Gary :)
Back at camp it was time to dry off and set up around the fire for some bench racing. :)
One small disturbing point of the evening was Tom insisting on showing us the abrasions on his bum from his big stack:blush:
Sunday was not really inspiring me (or anyone else) so we packed up and headed home.

Thanks to Mal for orgainising a great location.
Suttos for donating the tool roll
Spud, Action, Gary01, Merv, Sam, Adam and Tom for the company on the trail ride.
Bob for showing The Spud and i some great single track.

I,m looking forward to the next OBTs ride

I met Ghostrider just after 5am in a car park between us and threw my bike and all my gear into the trailer and off we went. Got up to Blaxland Maccas to meet TB. He arrived and announced he’ll not be joining us for the ride.
So, we left the obviously disappointed TB to get in to see the Doc and off we went. Next stop….Pine heaven.
We had a terrific trip out and at this stage, we weren’t even thinking of rain!
We arrived and made our introductions, unloaded, set up camp and suited up.
Mal had done a fair bit of homework around the forests and put together a good mix of terrain for the ‘newbies’ to see what was out in the forests when you put in the effort!
So, it was ‘all in’ for the morning ride so everyone could see what sort of tracks were out there. It was really good, all different levels of riders. Some newer fellas got to see what pine singles, fire trails, twin track, rocky up & downhills, creek crossings etc are all about. Gary01 (soon to be renamed THE IRON CHEF , none of this scud business) was doing it a little tough on the TTR – but seemed to be really enjoying himself. Great reliable, light little bike. I think if he through a 2nd headgasket on it and runs it on a straight mix of that shit he was drinking on Saturday night……the thing would overtake the 650 uphill whilst towing the Bowen Bro’s VW…..with bike trailer attached!!!!!
Tom had a cracker of a dismount…..judged to have a difficulty multiplier of 2.5. He sensibily stayed down until his eyes stop rolling like a poker machine and the world stopped spinning. All was fine….a little shaken up, be all OK. Not long afterwards, we ventured back to camp for lunch.

TB motored on in not long after we sat down. We fed ourselves (thanks Mal) and watched TB ride past us a few times, geared up and split into 2 groups. Poor Sam missed out on the quicker ride unfortunately due to a bastard of a front tube that decided to play silly buggers…….but he’ll be there next time to give the old blokes curry on his little crf.

The afternoon ride was a beauty. Between Mal and the Bowens, we got to see heaps at a good pace for all. Rocket and Tryhard sounded like chainsaws when they took on a wet, slippery uphill at one stage. Their persistance paid off. Well done….the only two to attempt it!! (KTM 2 – the rest 0) I’d been on reserve for a while and said to Mal I’d better start heading back soon. So we made our way back to camp. I was happy to call it a day and get organised (and dry) for the night ahead.
True to form, the truely keen and dedicated OB’s amongst us, refueled and went out for another attack. Good on them!

We all cooked our dinners with THE IRON CHEF (aka Gary01), sharing his knowledge of how make our dinners taste even nicer!! Tar
After that, the night deteriorated…….I had my fingers in my ears making la la la la noise.

I think this years Xmas Party was the toothless, six fingered, never spoken about pigeon toed, 2nd cousin of last years Party at Lui….However, those that were there had a great time. It was good to be able to put a face and voice to the new members names/ avatars.

    Crash

ps. Thanks for all your efforts Mal….it was much appreciated. Great to see Scott and Stuart Bowen again, Adam, Sam and Merv again, Rocket, Tryhard and farmer Bob. Also great to meet Gary01, Rebore & Nathan, Action, Tom, and I can’t forget the most appropriately name OB out there…DUDE! Dude is a Dude…another top OldBull!! It was great to meet you all!!
And finally……THANKS TO SUTTOS for our lucky door prize

    That’s gold Crash.

It was a great weekend even with the numbers down on last year.

All the reports are excellent reading and the photos and videos great to see as you don’t get to enjoy mid pack riding when leading.

Thanks Mal for putting together the weekend. It’s been a while however i had a ball on both morning and afternoon rides. I need to stop asking if there are any more hills like the last as it seems there is no straight answer and next thing your heading up or down some narly hill! Had a ball wet or dry didn’t matter was great to meet some new & old bulls. Thanks boys.
