…..dry clutch conversion:

And yes that it ground aluminium all over my clutch pressure plate. All the factory riders are doing it.
Oh and don’t forget to add tiny particles of aluminium to your oil either to help prevent it thinning out in this cold weather.
Shall I go all in and dry sump it too?
Still, the bike is 5 weeks old, probably time for a top and bottom rebuild anyway
June 15, 2012 at 10:19 pm #224319Christ your hard on gear mata..

June 15, 2012 at 10:59 pm #224321Surely that would be covered by warranty,
June 15, 2012 at 11:09 pm #224349Thats what would have happened to Crashes XR650 on Micks Birthday ride last year he was lucky he heard the bolt head gouging away at his clutch cover, when we tipped it on its side and had a look, the clutch spring retaining bolt had broken and was happy putting aluminium all through his engine.
End result was a strip down and clean out plus a refresh on a few bits and pieces.
Best of luck Motto
ChickenJune 15, 2012 at 11:21 pm #224352how the hell did you manage that Moto, were you playing harmonica whilst riding again.!
June 15, 2012 at 11:51 pm #224322Holy shite
you certainly do have a sense of humour considering what you have just done
clutch and housing are cheap but ……………….you know the rest
Good luck
5 weeks old try your hardest
June 16, 2012 at 12:44 am #224323Jesus bad luck mate  That’s a full rebuilt it reckon, shit! That fine aluminum gets everywhere
Did the clutch pressure plate bolt come loose or did it snap first?

June 16, 2012 at 1:14 am #224358bet the sponsers will be pissed with this all over the web 👿 👿 👿 does it come with a money back garente :silly:
June 16, 2012 at 1:16 am #224324Bugger, I hope it’s a pain free fix mate, surely it would come under warranty.

Mate things happen when they are assembled by robots or humans bolts break, castings have faults shit happens that’s why there is warranty, policy etc it’s not as though its a Honda

Again good luck Moto

June 16, 2012 at 1:21 am #224325Ah that sux! I would recommend replacing gearbox bearings after that. Metal particles got in between the cases and bearings on my CRF and you will never get it out without pulling the bearings out.

i brought a new ktm once i no about there warranty so good luck moto may need it.hay tb they don t come with warranty papers so you have got no chance legaly if they don t want to fix it they only fix what they want to.looking at that photo its not a real good ad for the brand
June 16, 2012 at 1:50 am #224362Being only five weeks old and the fact that moto hasn’t pulled it apart and played with the clutch, you would be a bit shitty if husaberg didn’t do all they could.
Its clearly a manufacturing fault, isn’t it ?
Keep us updated Moto.PTW
