Yes, was tempted to post up on the D7 work, but it was less a labour of love, more a chore. poor Daz and Baz were stressed out of their minds! I’d like to see regular progress on Sam now!

Scraper has not been touched, I believe the plan is to get Sam going and use it to load the scraper on to a low loader. There is a rumour that there may be a 50,000 yard tank to be dug in about 18 months so they will need the scraper for that.

Dropped in on the lads yesterday as they were removing the canopy. There are a couple of reasons for the canopy to come off: The mount points are on the nose cone which will be removed with the hydraulic tank and other items, the design of the canopy is odd with expanded mesh on the right had side which will be removed, and a brace across the rear which will eventually be in the way of the cable controller when it is mounted, so that will be changed, and also they have to add conduits for the cables to run from the controller to the blade and these will go through the mounting pedestals for the canopy, the pedestals will be relocated and the canopy changed slightly to suit.

Getting the canopy off with some highly technical tools – a tractor with forks and a 4-pound hammer!

And we’re away! They look funny without the canopy on hey!

Hopefully there will be more progress to report in the next few weeks!
