AnonymousLooks good Menace, Having just got that little Kato I was thinking about maybe making that a project bike and sprucing it up. Like Chris I’s be keen to see how the powdercoating holds up as I may get the frame done if it’s any good

Chris.
Mate once the powder coating is baked on it is mush more scratch resistant than normal paint, the boss at work had a gate made up and powder coated and when we were fitting it I had a slip with a screwdriver that I was shore would have ripped it open but there wasn’t a mark on it.
September 6, 2009 at 9:29 am #150085ive spent most of the weekend in the spidy shed, building sammys bike. only venturing out to select a beverage:laugh:
first i rebuilt the front end and put it into the new frame, just to make her a bit more stable for the works… the bearings and races were like new!!
then i implanted the 175cc of unleashed dynamite in…
i washed the donk and started on the swingarm, again the bushes were like new still…
with the shock in and airbox and mud plate thingy. i need to get a new airfilter, the old one is perished and fell apart in my hands…
the stand setup, with some minor mods. had to drill in a split pin hole as someone had welded a new pin in and it is too big…
installed the wiring loom and the bad ass “energy induction” box…
rear guard and both sets of pegs…
that is enough for today, lots of cleaning and painting and installing. i have thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. its like building an oversized model:laugh:
it will be more than ready for louee….
19 days to go:woohoo:

Projects looking good mate, but what does the “energy induction” box do?
thanx
September 6, 2009 at 12:49 pm #151247YEIS=Yamaha energy induction system, now I can’t remember weather it was s’pose to hold vacuum, or more less likely A/F mix, but it is effectively trying to increase the volume of the inlet tract to increase torque, one of My IT’s had it at one stage I think all 2T Yamahas had a version of it…Powervalves worked better and held more promise so all energies went into developing them instead.
