    plus 1, Mick

And the days when peter williamson in the toyota celica was abusing cars when they wouldnt get out of his way with the first on board camera , I could go on forever with memories of this race as a kid ,
i do think it was better when the car you had in your shed at home was the same as what was racing at bathurst for 2 reasons
    1. you could actually give it to the ford supporters knowing there was a difference between the cars not just the badge and shell
    2. the performance parts for motor ,suspension etc that you could buy for your car at home were tested and gauged on how they performed after a 1000km at bathurst
im not a lover of V8 supercars and dont follow it at all but a bathurst fan i am and if this is the formula they race there thats what im watching

With you totally Husky Bloke. Who remembers the Craven A Celica, rolling in the sand trap? Or Kevin Bartlett’s Channel Nine Camaro rolling on the mountain or Lefty’s Celica hitting the concrete wall. Those were the days!!

I don’t even come down from the camping area at the top of the mountain for the 4 days to annoy any locals.

Don’t live there any more LC4, I use to live 5 mins walk to conrod, rode the pushy to the races, collected cans for pocket money, jumped the fences to get in for free, got on the piss many a time in the front yard of my mates place at the entry to the chase, all good times as a young bloke, but now f*ck the place they have ruined it,

future cars as of next year will have to be 5L pushrod engine..

and the current Falcon range has a 5L in it. albeit supercharged.

with Stone Brothers going to Benz…… i dunno…

if old D!l< still has a crack at running a team i still have a blue oval to follow.

if it wasn’t for Harrop getting involved in supplying the diffs. holdens would still have to rely on a good old FORD 9″ to get them around the track.

i reckon they should go back to a Production Car set up. use the same engine and gearbox and diff it came out of the factory with.
