Well what a great ride thanks to all involved. Our host Rob had a huge get off on a fast uphill. Also we had a cart wheeling KTM feature in the days riding but more later. I only have a few videos of a bog hole

Bacon and eggs for breakfast, cheers Gaz

Wicked pub lunch and a brew

    More later

Yes, fantastic day was had today. Rob should have a little more respect for his BRP after today’s ride. I also learnt a bit about Kato’s today. The one in particular attempted to launch into a tree with his front wheel pointing to the stars. How good is that, attacking a tree with both wheels at the same time. But it got better, this bloody bike could do kart wheels with it’s rider on and continue to do them when he’d had enough.
Thanks to the host Rob, TB and The King for leading and special thanks to Chad for cleaning up all day.

It was great to see 5 new OBT members on the ride today and I’m sure they enjoyed the day as much as I did.

Look forward to catching up with all you Guy’s again soon

What a great ride, it was terrific to see so many newbies. Crash turned up at my place and we hooked up the trailer and rocked down to Macca’s where Owl 02 and GJ400 were waiting. Then came the phone call we knew would happen, yes Factoryphil was running late   no surprise there :P So we left and drove out to Hampton pub where we waited for factory. Once grouped up we drove up to Rob’s crib. What an awesome weekender, sorry not as flash as the Owl setup but a ripper in itself. Intros done Owl 02 cooked up bacon and blue eggs ripper 2 of them puppies hit the spot ;) I fitted Crash up with his new Astrisk knee braces (cheers on the great price Jay at Sutto’s)

Suited up and with Factory in the sweep vest we got under way, straight down the road and into the forest just past Ballards compound. First hill I knew would be a tester and it didnt disappoint   Sorry guys but we needed to go that way and it wasnt that bad really  Down and through the bog hole and into the pine forest. I took the guys to a rutted, whooped out single that I know has been used as a training track for some of the blue brigade guns. It was hard work and pretty demanding, it got the blood pumping and Factory’s new kato boiling with the slow going   Is it just me or are the new KTM’s the first bike to boil in a group??

We grouped up after 15mins or so of the tight singles, King Crash swung into action and was seen adjusting peoples tyre pressures etc. We jumped across the Jenolan Caves rd and used some of the tracks used on the Caves to Caves ride but without a river running down them this time  We traveled deeper down the Cox’s river side and used a couple of the tracks used on Dr D’s Hampton last year. It was here the Rob’s mate who’s name slips me (sorry  ) on his kato 525 performed a flip into a tree from a standing start   :P Not to be out done shortly after Rob had a huge get off on the BRP, being a good 3rd gear cartwheel that left him and the BRP looking like they had been ridden hard and rolled up wet  Factory the super trainee sweep struggled to get the BRP going while Rob rolled it off (as opposed to walking it off  ) With everyone ready we retraced a few tracks as they had been so good. During a short transport on a rough little dirt tracks Rob’s mate (sorry again  ) on the Kato went bush while having a little run with Rob I think. He was in the scrub a way, so far actually a few of the boys rode past not seeing him  The kato was fairly tuned up the front mudguard was busted off and the sub frame was bent.

Rob and his mate decided to limp the Kato and Rob home where we would meet them later. We continued through some singles some slippery some dusty and then ran back to the Oberon turn off. I lead the boys out to a big hill climb we have done a couple of times over the years, only 4 of us elected to do it. I went onto reserve so we started heading back, where we came across the bog hole from the Caves to Caves ride

Shortly after CJ400 had a lay down again  and we went to the pub had a good feed and a Bundy or Beer :)
From there we rode back to Rob’s with Factory ripping off 120kph wheel stands :cheer: :cheer:
Once at Robs we loaded the bikes got changed and sat and had more beers and rums before the drive home

It was great having Factoryphil along for his first OBT ride, Factory and I have been mates for years now and he is one of the funniest blokes I know and can ride ;)

Crash cheers mate, Rob thanks for letting us use the crib and all the newbies it was great meeting and I look forward to doing it all again soon.

The young fella and I had a good time. Sam was impressed by how TB and King Crash manoeuvred those tractors around (so was I). Rob and his mate went fine until they tried to out do each other, (maybe we should keep them seperated ;))

Thanks to Rob for calling the ride, TB, King Crash and Factoryphill for keeping us from getting lost and the others for some light entertainment and laughs. I will see you all on the next ride :) .

    Had a terrific time yesterday.
I think the newbies that hadn’t met TB and me before were wondering what the hell they’d rocked up to…..when they drove in and saw me standing up on a bench next to the fire……….in my reggies….with TB bent over down at knee level…..doing the initial customising of my new knee braces!!! Sorry fellas.
(thanks to Suttos and TB for arranging them at a great price – Jay is tremendous…follows up and does what he says he’ll do!)

    Anyway,

Owl02 cooked some breaky for us….what a great start!

It was great to have so many first timers along. GJ400 on his DRZ400 that has never been off-road (Owl02’s looked just as factory new), Factory Phil on one of….if not the first 2011 KTM 450’s, Merv on his KLX250, Host Rob on his XR650, Dave on his KTM525.

TB saw to it that we had a heap of different types of terrain and I’m sure that there were times when the newbies were cursing him in that rutted out, root strewen Pine single! But there wasn’t too much of that (rocket would have loved it!). There was some excellent twin, slippery uphills, some fire trailers etc.
A good mix saw us cover almost 100km’s over about 3.5hrs of actual riding. A beaut lunch at Hampton pub was had, together with some chin waging, some piss taking (especially Factory Phil and TB).

Then back to Robs to pack up and ‘debrief’

I loved taking out some new members with TB and showing them what you can do if you put in a little effort, get out of your comfort zone and try something new (joining a website etc). They all were top blokes and seemed to have enjoyed getting out and doing something different in a relatively safe experienced environment (thanks to TB)

    Well Done all.

    Crash

PS. A good couple of offs were had….crackers, without too much damage. Heal quick boys and bikes.

PPS. See…..I told you all……..if I stay away from Hampton Pub on Saturday night, the Dragons will win!!!
(now they’ll only choke in the Grand Final!!)

PPPS. THanks Rob for initiating this ride and letting us all meet at your ‘Ponderosa Ranch’ – Rippa of a set up!!

Guys one of those Newbys here, I had a fantastic time (a fair few drops but you get that) really appreciated the opportunity, the ride and all the tips and advice from TB, KingCrash and Chad just what I need)[/size], heaps more to learn but I’m up for it, punishment and all, :( lifes too short to sit around wondering. :woohoo:

Thanks Rob for the suggestion, base camp and a bringing a kiwi along who likes to push the limits independant of anything. Number 3 was a ripper crash (first hand view) after going off track, over 2 serious size fallen trees then seeing an orange machine performing a couple of somersaults it made me realise my falls were many but very tam (I was glad to see you were OK pity about the machine) :(

The DRZ400 came out Ok after a good blast besides a few scratches (standard off road stuff you get from an unexperienced ride) has come up like new (Owl 02 tips here), somehow I don’t think it will be coming up like new for much longer. :) :)

Again very much appreciate for the opportunity and looking forward to the next one (when my calf gets back down to normal size)

Glad you “new guys” had a ball. Days like you just experienced are what OBT was initially set up to organise. Top work TB and Crash.

Well what an impression you all made!!!!!!
I just got off the phone to XR650Rob.
He abused the S#@t out of me.
Firstly for introducing him to the Old Bulls forum & for secondly fixing his bike so he could go away for a ride with you guys.
Now his bike is all screwed up, bent subframe, exhaust & rear wheel & he is nursing a couple of bruised kidneys. Now I’m not to sure about the bruised kidneys, I usually say I have a chill on my kidneys after a big night on the beers, but hey I have to feel sorry for him.
I will pass this on though, he & his mate had a ball.
The Old Bulls have a way of making everyone feel welcome.
Wish I had of been there! No I don’t, couldn’t think of anything worse than having to follow TB around all day.

Is it the steel tail light subframe or the aluminium main sub frame that has been bent?
