Hey whiterocket, funny you mentioned that you miss CRs. Me too

I was visiting my friend Steve Parr yesterday, and what I believe may be the most reliable bike I know.

It is a 1995 WMW (Honda CR250 with road rego)

He bought the Honda after he kept breaking his Husky. I think that Husky was a 1991 wr 260?

Over the years it has been ridden on average twice a week. And ridden hard. We are talking practice mx tracks and special test loops at a very quick pace. Some otb members on this site will know the kind of speed I am talking about. He and his son,
Mono (on a rego YZ250) came on the ‘moto’s sausage’ wato’s ride last year.

To give you an idea of how much work this bike has done:
It is about to go on to its second clutch cover due to Steve’s boots wearing through the first one.

Despite all this. The piston just came out after 5 years of flogging (still in the original bore).

Items do wear out though. It is on its’ second set of brake rotors and callipers.

Some credit for the longtivity of the CR must go to Steve’s’ throttle control, accurate line selection and precise landings.

woodys didn’t ADR any aluminuim framed model CRs. and with CRFXs becoming so popular i suppose that didn’t have the market.

i had an 94 wmw. such a good bike. i could ride it to work (1km of back streets), then ride to hillsborugh quarry in the arvo, and race it on the weekend.

if woodys made another wmw i’ll be second in line. thats until i discovered tms. just like a cr but easier to get parts for and better suspension

and mr blue. also had a 99 yz250wr. once i got the suspension sorted that was good too

well after about 13 years and an incredible number of kms. Sport has decided he should get a new bike. Not sure what he is doing with the now famous WMW CR.

He has bought a 1 month old 09 KTM250 2T with 300km on it. It also has $8000 worth of new KTM hard parts on it.

Apparently the previous owner ordered the bike with $8000 worth of hard parts. Rode it. Then rode his friends Berg. Then bought a Berg.

Might get a ride in this arvo

i think sport asked if the shop could put more normal plastics back on it.

i have offered to buy the wmw. i love the old steel frame CRs. especially with road rego.
